Chelsea's players can't even blame the manager for their defeat against Forest reserves so they'll probably be up for this one.

After our performance against a similarly struggling Spurs, I'm fearing the worst.

Craig Pawson. has been confirmed as the referee.

Pawson has been the man in the middle for two separate Wembley finals that Liverpool have won in the past, with the Reds’ FA Cup triumph on penalties, over Chelsea, no less, in 2022, overseen by the Sheffield-born referee.

CHRIS SUTTON' PREDICTION
  • Anfield, 12:30 BST
Liverpool still look like they will finish in the Champions League places even after their defeat by Manchester United last time out, but that result was the latest disappointment in what has been a poor season by their standards.

Chelsea have bigger problems, however. It is all falling apart for them and, after six straight league defeats, they are down in ninth place and absolutely desperate for a result here.

I just don't see them getting anything at Anfield though. Cole Palmer looks a shadow of the player we know he is and they are struggling defensively too.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Fabio's prediction: Chelsea are having a terrible time of it. They seem a bit disjointed, despondent - they are all over the place. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-1

JONES KNOWS BEST PREDICTION.

Liverpool vs Chelsea, Saturday 12.30pm

Enzo Maresca is becoming a better manager by the day since leaving Chelsea.
The players just don't look like they know what they are anymore. There's no clear structure, no rhythm and too many individuals going through the motions. Throw in the distraction of an upcoming FA Cup final and a summer World Cup and it's not hard to see why focus levels might not be where they need to be.
That's a dangerous mix heading to Anfield.
Liverpool have been typically strong at home, losing just once in their last 11 there. It's still one of the toughest assignments in the league when the crowd gets behind them and Liverpool tend to smell vulnerability.

So rather than overcomplicate things, I'm happy to side with the obvious but with a bit of value built in.
Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals at 11/8 with Sky Bet looks a winner in waiting.

SCORE PREDICTION: 3-1
