From where i was stood there were plenty of meffs getting excited, running around on the pitch like we'd won the Champions League.Of the people I've spoken to in person I don't think too many of us are getting over-excited.
Only one of four teams can win the play-offs, obviously. Whilst I guess many neutrals would look at where we finished and how and imagine we're the least likely to, you can't win (or lose) games you haven't qualified for. Without writing our chances off, being where we are now as one of those four after the way the season started is worth celebrating in itself.
We sadly don’t get many days like yesterday. I don’t have an issue with fans having having their day in the sun. It’s probably more the dramatic way it unfolded. From where i was stood there were plenty of meffs getting excited, running around on the pitch like we'd won the Champions League.
I saw the word tinpot used several times on social media to describe us yesterday. I think celebrating finishing 6th by running on the pitch makes it hard to argue against. We sadly don’t get many days like yesterday. Certainly realised how much we’ve missed him getting his foot in, breaking up play and stopping them from totally dominating the game.10 more years 10 more years Regan Slater.
I bloody love that man.
It’s not how I celebrated, admittedly, but that wasn’t the point I was making, more that of the people I’ve actually spoken to few believed that we were already promoted. From where i was stood there were plenty of meffs getting excited, running around on the pitch like we'd won the Champions League.

In terms of football quality they were much better, yet we had the better chances but that wouldn’t have happened if Slater hadn’t been running and tackling tirelessly throughout the game. That was despite it being his first start in only his second or third game since coming back from injury.
Like most others, I gave McBurnie top spot in the MOTM thread, which he fully deserved but Slater ran him very close. Those two performances in particular encouraged the others to our first win in 8/9? games and considering how little Slater has played recently and that he was hobbling around after a heavy challenge for quite awhile, was really outstanding.
Interesting also that it was the first game we’ve won since he got injured, that’s not a coincidence but a measure of how important he has been to our success so far this season. He is crucial to our chances of having any hope of getting the results we need over the next three games, as we’ve already seen, we have no one else in the squad who can give us what he does, that allows us to get results in games where we would otherwise struggle.
McBurnie was brilliant yesterday but we didn’t miss him as much when he had his lengthy spell out because Joffy and Joseph stepped up and got the goals we needed to get results in games.
We haven’t had anyone step up and do what Slater has been doing all season, when he was out, which is probably the main reason that we’ve struggled so much the last couple of months. We really need him to stay fit enough for the remaining three games, if we’re going to have any chance to defy the odds and win the playoffs.
That still remains one of the of the worst decisions I have seen. There were 4 or 5 reasons why that goal should not have stood.Beating these cousin lovers today and getting into the playoffs goes someway towards off-setting the opening day defeat two years ago, when the six fingered inbreds scored an illegal winner long after the end of injury time, from a wrongly awarded corner, then when the assassin in training, Angus Gunn, tried to murder Aaron Connolly later that season.
Someway towards - but not nearly far enough.
They're still a horrible, horrible club.
From a horrible, horrible city.
Yeah i agree, I dont know anyone who got carried away. We've turned around our season after an embarrassing situation last season which is great. But weve won nothing and have to keep our heads until the job is done. The players deserved a lap of honour but all the pitch invasion stuff was just odd. Celebrating 6th place! I think it was more of a case of a few doing it and the sheep following. It’s not how I celebrated, admittedly, but that wasn’t the point I was making, more that of the people I’ve actually spoken to few believed that we were already promoted.
We might lose both semi-final legs 3-nil, but after the uncertainty before and at the start of the season qualifying for the playoffs at all is an achievement worth celebrating.
Yes, that’s pretty small time, and I could have shoved ‘little old Hull’ up Steve Bruce’s arse, but we’re still pretty unlikely to ever be winning the Champion’s League so you take the joy in the moments you find it.
No need to look down on people being happy on a dramatic day. Who was calling up tin pot? Was it fans from big clubs like Arsenal who left before they were presented the FA Cup when they beat us.I saw the word tinpot used several times on social media to describe us yesterday. I think celebrating finishing 6th by running on the pitch makes it hard to argue against.
It’s not often people get to see Bruno Mars perform live but they dont run onto the stage and start taking selfies. It’s just another example of the entitled world we live in where people think they will just do whatever they like. Stewards should be given shotguns, at least it would make it an entertaining sport for the vast majority who are in the stands.
whilst I dont disagree entirely about the pitch invasion Jim, I dont see it as celebrating 6th personally. At certain stages of the game we were down to 8th and people were living on their phones.. I saw it more as we had dug ourselves out of a hole and managed to achieve what we had deserved to achieve for the majority of the season and the relief.Yeah i agree, I dont know anyone who got carried away. Where did that sh*t come from, Bruno Mars FFS, Probably your worst ever post that Jim!I saw the word tinpot used several times on social media to describe us yesterday. I think celebrating finishing 6th by running on the pitch makes it hard to argue against.

Totally agree, Lewie should be club captain, there are others more suited to the onfield role, and it’s crystal clear to see.I saw McBurnie and Slater leading the team today more than Coyle.
Rallying the others, screaming at them when we need to be motivated, calming them down when we needed to settle and slow it.
I have little doubt if any of the other Championship clubs that didn't make the top six were in our position yesterday, the scenes there would have been the same. From where i was stood there were plenty of meffs getting excited, running around on the pitch like we'd won the Champions League.
Where is the rulebook for pitch invasions and euphoric celebration?Yeah i agree, I dont know anyone who got carried away.
