So, this may be a defeatist attitude, but whatever.
Today felt like a success of a season. Realistically we were never getting automatic promotion so the play offs were the ambition. Yes we’ve been poor in recent weeks but it almost doesn’t matter now, we’ve managed to reach the best goal imaginable and deserved the celebrations at the end.
It may get better but that feels like a bonus. Whatever happens this team achieved their goal and they now deserve the chance to see what they do in the playoffs.
The celebrations were great and it was really nice to mark something like this in person for the first time since 2016.

TBF...Listening to Coyle speaking on Humberside, sort of explains why he's captain....Local kid. Who leads from the front. He knows he's not the best, but for what he lacks in skill or whatever he more than makes up for in leadership...Plus his crossfield volley pass to Millar from right to left was the pass of the day. His reference to his late father was really touching.
I saw McBurnie and Slater leading the team today more than Coyle.
Rallying the others, screaming at them when we need to be motivated, calming them down when we needed to settle and slow it.
I don't think I've seen it said but Dowell made a good impact when he came on.

People say this a lot, but it's obviously hard to see with any accuracy who is really leading, and we don't know what goes on away from the pitch, so it's inevitable that our biases will take over and Coyle is always an easy target. McBurnie mentioned today that Coyle's speech to the players yesterday had him ready to go and headbutt a wall.
He was good, and he's been very harshly treated by our fans. He does have a nice touch and a very good left foot. His one-touch pass to Giles from a throw in today in a very tight area which led to a chance was very impressive I thought. Created a chance to cross out of nowhere and could easily have gone off the pitch if he'd not got it absolutely perfect, and people would've been all over him if it did.
So my eldest daughter brought up in the states and an avid city fan took her 2 friends visiting from the states to Charlton last week. Bit of a disaster and they took off to Sicily for the week.
At the last minute (Wednesday) they decided to purchase tickets and flew back a day early from Palermo to arrive back in time for the Norwich game. After much celebrating in Hull they ended up going on to Heathrow late Sat night as her 2 friends were flying back on Sunday to Portland and Denver respectively.
As they were checking into the Heathrow hotel close to midnight Sat night they got approached by this bloke who was shocked to see my daughter wearing the Green retro Bonus city shirt from the 90s.
Turns out it was Lawrie Dudfield, ( city 2001 to 2003) who now live in St Petersburg in Florida. He couldn’t believe these three female Americans in their 30s had been to the Norwich game. Small world!

Of the people I've spoken to in person I don't think too many of us are getting over-excited.
Only one of four teams can win the play-offs, obviously. Whilst I guess many neutrals would look at where we finished and how and imagine we're the least likely to, you can't win (or lose) games you haven't qualified for. Without writing our chances off, being where we are now as one of those four after the way the season started is worth celebrating in itself.
