When you consider he doesn't start every game too, he's really been a revelation for us. And it's not even just the goals, it's how he allows us to play going forward AND just as an out ball. The January Transfer window really was unbelievably good in hindsight.
I think that he has shown the quality to make the step up too if we make it.

Yeah, I was beginning to get frustrated with our succession of strikers whose attributes did not include the ability to score actual goals.
Well we had an obsession with goalkeepers whose attributes didn’t include keeping the ball out of the net so it is hardly a surprise.

That said, I think the penny has dropped that roles in the team need to meet certain KPIs.

Just listened to a video where the comment was made “imagine if we’d signed Larin instead of Damion Downs”

Hopefully this entire incident will be a useful lesson in that in some cases we need to consider a wider variety of “player profile”. Not just “young with potential for future growth and sell on”

It’s taken us far to much time to learn that it’s fine to just sign a player who can do a job immediately.
And in some positions that’s what we should absolutely do rather than risk it (looks at Bazunu)

I want both

I’m gonna keep banging this drum too. Read an article today that Stewart has the best minute to goal ratio of any of the Scottish strikers, with McBurnie 2nd. However Steve Clarke has Che Adam’s & Lyndon Dykes as first options (due to loyalty), even though they are 6th/7th for goals per minute. Ross has been unreal during the 2nd half of the season and finally looks to be pushing on a bit. Would love for him to go to the World Cup, us sign him for another couple seasons and him stay fit and get a proper chance at the top flight. He’s quality on his day

I think signing Larin and giving Stewart a new contract is a no-brainer. If we are still in the championship we know the pair of them can deliver at that level and "when" (not if) we go up this season then they have shown they can play against Prem opposition well enough this season.

Just don't see the point in binning Stewart and increasing the number of strikers we have to take a punt on them fitting when we have two that we know exactly what they give us.

Archer has been playing better the last few games but still isn't scoring enough and I have no idea what is the best route for Downs.
