Good morning all

We haven’t had a weekend debate for a while, if you look in Doc, will you ever grace us with one again.

How good do those three points feel this morning, how big will that gap feel to West Ham and Spurs and despite them being below us for quite some time, why have Forest been ignored by so many, it could be them that goes down.

Spurs or West Ham - For ages I wanted it to be West Ham, it has changed to Spurs, I just feel that would send a larger shock wave through the football world and help for future transfer targets, two promoted team staying up.

Not mathematically safe but we’re there aren’t we, what position do you now want to see us reach. With the pressure off and Spurs terrible home record the writing is on the wall, we could be sending them down on our next game. Leeds Win, Bournemouth a home game, you’d like a win would a draw be okay then West Ham, another win or another drawer, 5 more points is not an unrealistic target.

What two players would you like to see us upgrade next season, Aaronson and Tanaka for me. We will need an upgrade on Piroe too however, Okafor and DCL starting is far more solid than I would have imagined at the start of the season.

Three new signings all on the scoresheet - Which one has been the best signing out the three

Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone

Stach for me and I have a feeling he will get even better <ok>

Echo your sentiments regarding @Doc would be good to hear from him again

Id love to catch sunderland, not so much to finish above them but more so where they currently sit

Anywhere around the 12th mark would be a fantastic achievement and help attract the right calibre of player going forward

Lets face it we would have settled for 17th but this team looks capable

I've a feeling Doc won't be back until Farke finally fails and is sacked. Dunno what he has against him but he hasn't liked him from the offset.

Great win last night. Not the best performance but we are learning how to get results at this level. That is us safe now. I think 40 points was more than enough. Last night was a bit of extra insurance.

I want Spurs down. They were one of the clubs wanting the European Super League. **** em. Enjoy Lincoln away instead of Real Madrid away you greedy bastards. Hope you go bust.

Signing of the season is Stach but I've been a fan of the Okafor signing since day one. If he is fit, he is our only match winner. Its keeping him fit that's the issue.

Easy upgrades for the first team is goalkeeper, someone to open the door like a Pablo Hernandez and a striker to push DCL for a starting spot. Sprinkle a bit of cash at a few young prospects like Hackney at Boro and go again next season.

I think we’ll get something out of the Spurs game to ensure they can’t overtake us.

On transfers I think we did really well last summer, bearing in mind promotion to EPL.
Rarely does any club get it right with every acquisition, and I have serious doubts about Bornauw, and Perri is far from perfect but all the rest have contributed positively at various times through the season.

I find it difficult to rate between Stach/DCL/Gabby/Justin and Okafor who has been the best signing - they’ve all impressed (btw I haven’t forgotten Longstaff or Nmecha - just think the 5 above have been better).

Main thing is that they seem to get the club, and what we are about. That’s a real positive for next season.

Bijol has been impressive imo

Spurs for me, mainly as West Ham are more likely to be in a similar position of mid to lower positions next season, where as Spurs have the potential to improve a lot, although of course they didn't improve from last season, but the appointment of Thomas Franks was a poor misjudgement.

I'm sure you won't have remembered Ristac, but if we do get the 5 points that I agree is a realistic target to aim for from the 3 remaining games, then you will have correctly predicted at the start of the season that we would get 48 points. Whether that will correspond with your predicted position of 15th in the table we will have to wait and see, but you're not going to be far off.

If I'm limited to only the new signings that scored last night, then DCL. If I'm not restricted to just the goal scorers then James Justin, as I imagine very few of us expected him to get much game time when we signed him. Longstaff is the biggest disappointment, even though he's not an exciting player to get you up out of your seat, I expected with his experience and ability, to have more influence than he does.

As for the 2 upgrades that is harder than you think, as even Emu ignored that structure and went for 3, which I wouldn't argue with. As much as Brendan does all his hard work and Farke likes him, we've be looking for a more technical composed player for a while, so I think that's the first position. I think the club have already made their intentions clear with the pursuit of Strand Larsson during the January transfer window, that they are looking for more competition up front. Piroe is most likely to move on, Nmecha will be happy seeing out the final year of his contract as 3rd choice striker, so I imagine that we will be looking for someone to compete or partner DCL.

Personally would like a DCL upgrade, he had his purple patch where most of his goals came from, I think we need better , if we're to progress.
Also Aaronson, loses the ball far too often for my liking, we could do with someone with his workrate but stronger on the ball and more composure.
I do think we need 4 or 5 upgrades to progress though

Morning all. I’ve never doubted Farke or our chances of staying up. Think we’ve lost four of last twenty five games or something like that which is fantastic. Hope whoever did the recruiting last summer does it again as we got some real gems. Three or four more of that quality should see us pushing for Europe. First proper owners ever at the club will have to continue to dig deep

I don't mind admitting that I wasn't that enthused about our signings. I was trying to find a post that predicted how I thought they would do this season but I'm too dumb to find it. However, I'll try and remember what I thought.

Perri - I thought he was a slight upgrade on Meslier. I predicted that he had a mistake in him and he was a bit crazy but thought he would be first choice. Thought he would be a very average signing. Probably got this one about right. 4/10 for this signing.

Bornauw - Seem to remember being content that he was an upgrade on James Debayo. For emergency use only. Think I got this one right. 4/10

Okafor - Think I was the only one happy with this one. Thought he had genuine talent and an eye for goal. Concerns were about his injuries but a decent gamble given Conte had got him losing weight during his loan spell at Napoli. 8/10

Bijol - Thoughts were that he was no better than Cresswell but much more expensive. Thought he would be too slow and that he dives in too much and would give too many free kicks away. The reality is that he has turned out to be an outstanding defender. Playing in a 3 has really helped protect his lack of pace and he has locked out many excellent strikers this season. Got this wrong although if we stayed with a back 4 I think Bijol struggles. 9/10

Gudmundsson - thought he was all pace and no footballer but happily proved wrong. He's a great player and much better than I thought he was. Fantastic season. 9/10

Stach - i kinda knew what we were getting with him. A fantastic signing. 10/10

Justin - hated this signing. Thought he had too many serious injuries behind him and that his days as a top flight full back were over but what a pleasant suprise. Has been outstanding. 9/10

DCL - okay with it as a freebie but wanted someone who would be available every week and not as injury prone. As it turned out, he's been available for most of the season and got double figures. Far exceeded my expectations although i think we need someone to come in this summer. 8/10.

Nmecha - wasn't comfortable with having him and DCL as our new strikers as both had injury concerns and the PL is very physical. Nmecha has done well and filled in admirably throughout. Scored quite a few important goals and is an important squad player. 7/10

Longstaff - thought he would be a mainstay in our first team. Showed alot of promise but an injury forced him to be absent for a while and he cannot force his way back in. Hasn't lived up to my expectations but was vital at the start of the season. Think he could have more of an impact next year but 6/10 for this season.

Think that's everyone.

I would keep Gnonto unless he wants to go to Italy. Dan dan the running man needs to be gone as he only is fit for Wales matches like that Austrian tossah we had. Aaronson offers little except being a duracell bunny and has the composure of a tourettes person (feck him) sorry. Perri is just ordinary and not prem standard and bores me with his ability to not impress. We have lots of deadwood who just sit on the bench warming their arses. Then we have the various insignificant others showing there fantastic skills and ability at lesser clubs.
Nothing short of a decent clear out and six good players scouted by our very good recruitment team will be treading water. Apart from the goalie and crappy centre back they did well so let them loose with the funds.

My head tells me we must be safe on 43 points, we’d surely have to be the unluckiest team in the world for both Tottenham and West Ham to get to 44 without us picking up another point to the end of the season. Just want it beyond doubt and would be happier if we weren’t playing both teams above away. I need to find some of Eire’s new found confidence/optimism <laugh>

Here's a question, what if our stars attract big bids from other teams? I think there would be interest in Struijk Bijol and possibly Gabby.
I wouldn't be surprised if a big bid came in for Stach. Maybe the continuing fitness issues may put teams off Okafor but a big gun might be interes in having him as a bench option.
Would they cash in?
