Bet365 are offering 100/1 on newcastle relegation this season.
I think it is a mistake (amongst many more) but I sort of understand where PIF/Hopkinson/Wilson are, in that they want stability this summer.
I really hope Howe proves me wrong and he turns this around but I dont think he will.

Do something a bit different, as I said on the thread - try false 9 with narrow wingers, try 4231 to shore up the gaping hole in attack. I completely agree; felt like a bullish stance from him but there was more than a hint of fear there. It’s technically in his hands, but I think he knows a lot aren’t playing for him and getting the results/performances are going to be difficult.
Why would I back Howe or PIF? They both have a loser mentality when it comes to NUFC. They say one thing and then do another. 4 games to go and we are still mathematically in a relegation battle. It's just not acceptable, it wasn't in the Ashley era but at least we knew what he was. He gave no money and didnt expect anything other than stay in PL. PIF are gaslighting us. Howe's not even asking for a win anymore, he grasping at improved performances. Wish one of the journos would say to him. 'Is it not the case Arsenal scored after 10mins and then went into cruise mode as they were so confident that you wouldnt change tactics and they were happy for your team to try and break them down!'

It's not pifs fault.. They've been fantastic and they supplied the money required to win the 1st major silverware in 70 years.... The rules are behind everything else seemingly being slow...
I don’t agree at all with loser mentality. Howe has an obscene stoicism which has previously been his downfall, and will be again. He was 442, ride or die, left Bmth, went to Spain and watched Simeone turn average players into hard grafters which then gave him 433, ride or die. He’ll lose this job, go watch someone else and come back with something else that will work for a while until it doesn’t, but the man has never once shown a willingness or an ability to evolve.
Yes and no. Its 5 years and not a spade in the ground on new training ground or new stadium/expansion and no clear idea of when that may be the case.
I thought Saudi would be ruthless. Thought they would hire the best lawyers and go after cartel if they got in their way. Find all loopholes, wrap them up in legislation etc. Maybe it was me setting my expectations too high but 5 years in I didnt think there would be nothing infrastructure wise and nothing in the region either. Very disappointed.

The training ground is much better tbh... It's important to look at what has been done and maybe trust what we're being told about the rest to come.
I would imagine it's not easy to do that's all. It's a figure into the billions and there's planning planning permission and God knows what else to factor in..
2030 is the bench mark. If we arent going to target it, dont come out in public and say it. I see another lost season next year with Howe so we will be 2027, which gives 3 year to pick up from the ashes of Howe leaving to be on talked about in the same breath as RM,Barcelona, Man City etc.. It's a losing mindset and it's the same mindset that fans have when they say but remember the Ashley era. Its the past, we should be focussing on 2030 and how to make that a reality.
Now if Hopkinson had come out and said we want to be a bottom half team by 2030 then my expectation would be different and I would accept Howe could achieve that with ease and so as you were!
