Big plans for High Street West approved. Great news for the city.

Nice quote at the end of the article:

Labour's Martyn Herron said: "My generation made our memories in this town in places like Crowtree, Marks & Spencer and other places like Ku Club on the other side of High Street West.

"These developments, this is where the next generation of Sunderland residents are going to make their memories."

Great news. They need to start working down from Keel Square towards the train station etc and improve the whole city centre. Hopefully this comes off and is the start of it.

If only they didn't close in the station because it's a god awful entrance into the city.

Yeah I did read they were doing the main entrance again on that side after the south end renovation.

Please everyone get out and vote to stop this, I’m ashamed to say reform are in here in Durham city where I live. :emoticon-0119-puke:

I'm in North Durham and we've got them as well. Everything is much ****ter since they took over.

It's the little things as well as the big things. Every street in my village has a flowerbed at the entrance that are usually planted with seasonal bedding. Since Reform took over, they've cut the maintenance on them. At the moment, they're just bare earth instead of the winter pansies etc., we usually have at this time of year.

You see this is a typical leave it up to somebody else attitude, you should be out there volunteering and doing your civic duty by buying some flowers and planting them, just to keep the place looking nice.
If Reform stay in power I'm sure we will even get the chance to volunteer to collect the bins :emoticon-0140-rofl:

For the sake of clarity, I am taking the Mick

I see we shouldn’t be happy with the redevelopment of the city centre. It is just a vanity project t, instead we should be concentrating on developing fishing.

Well that’s according to A certain Mr Farage..

Pl are vote tactically to stop this MAGA want to bed from derailing the progress our coy has made.

Let’s hope people aren’t stupid enough to put Sunderland’s fantastic regeneration at risk next week. I had a walk round the city centre last week and it’s coming on great.

Even though solving the mass migration issue is high on my list of priorities, I'll certainly be voting for my current Labour councillor in the local elections. The council have done an excellent job so far in revamping the city.

Farage's 'fishing' remark was just plain stupid and shows him up for what he is. Crown Works and the full re-opening of the Leamside Line have the potential to massively boost the whole of the North East - certainly a lot more than just fishing.

Even though mass migration is high on his list of priorities, I couldn't bring myself to vote for Farage and his party in any election. I'm anti-racist, so don't like the type of 'supporters' that his party attracts and Farage is on a par with Starmer for being untrustworthy.

I'm currently in a quandary over where to place my vote at the next General Election though, as I desperately want the Leamside to happen, which Labour are more likely to do, but I also want a party to sort out the mass migration issue, swiftly and effectively, and have no faith in Labour to do that. The Tories didn't tackle that either.

I have an eye on Rupert Lowe's Restore Party to solve the migration issue and I am hoping Tommy Robinson and Co. stick with Farage's lot, but it's still too early to tell what Restore's Transport and Regeneration policy is. So, I'll stay on the fence for now, with my eyes wide open.

Good post mate. I presume you are aware that hoping to solve the mass migration issue means you are a far right racist in the eyes of some on here, despite the comments you make further in your post. Those comments, with which I'm in agreement, should help to dispel their attitude to those with whom they disagree......but,don't hold your breath.... await the next cut and paste! <laugh>
