Brian Brobbey tells me which of his Sunderland team mates has been singing the, ‘Brobbey’s on my mind’ chant around the training ground:

️ “My chant? I love it. Honestly, I’d rate it a 10/10. I don’t sing it during the game - and after I go home and there’s no singing around the house. But I heard Trai Hume sing it at the training ground the other day - he’s got a really good voice!

️ “The goal v Newcastle was a really important goal for the fans, the club and the city. I think it’s almost at the top of the best goals I’ve scored in my career.

️ “It’s good to know it’s a goal that will go down in Sunderland history - that I was the difference maker in a game like that. Happy fans - happy Brian!”

Thanks for the thread @RTB

Quite relaxed going into this one. They're relegated and haven't got anything to play for. We're safe from relegation, Europe is within touching distance but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we don't get it. As neither side has anything critical to play for, I'm hoping for just a lovely game of football, Obviously with us winning it like.

To cheer yourself up, just be thankful we are not Stoke...Oatcake are bemoaning the fact they are stuck in yhe bottom half of Championship... that is despite all the (gambling loot poured in).

Don't know if this has been discussed elsewhere (have not been able to be on much lately) but in my opinion over the last 2 games I think we have been playing around with adapting our shape and how we approach games. I think we have been looking to be more expansive especially in midfield. This has made us more susceptible at the back and has meant we have conceded too many goals.
Obviously RLB has previous for preparation from last season and to be honest he may have an eye on preparations for next season, and trying to make sure our shape and style allows us to get forward and score more but must ensure that balance with the defensive structure as well.
I see this continuing until the end of the season as the style transitions a bit and the players get used to the new instructions.
That said I think we win this one as we do tend to have good reactions to poor results.

I think Andy Sixsmith is one of the few NE based Mag supporting journo that is actually decent and gives us a fair decent review/coverage.

Thanks again for the thread @RTB

Looking forward to this one, wouldnt mind seeing ELF in the middle of midfield and Talbi or Angulo wide left.

Can't believe how quickly the season has gone, so going to relax and enjoy the remaining 4 games in what has been a brilliant season

I have said it for a while now but I would like to see a last 4 of Isidor, Brobbey and Mayenda in front of Elf. But I am afraid the team will be the same shape and format again, I only hope it will work out this time and 3 points are added . OaU

Am expecting to see a reaction to the shambles on Friday. I'd freshen it up with Talbi, Reinildo and Isidor coming in for Diarra, Hume and Brobbey

Roefs
Mukiele Ballard Alderete Reinildo
Xhaka Le Fee Sadiki
Rigg Isidor Talbi

Subs: Ellborg, Geertruida, O'Nien, Cirkin, Hume, Diarra, Brobbey, Jocelyn, Mayenda

That would be my team too. Diarra needs resting and I think the PL have worked Brobbey out a bit. Can always bring him on.

Dunno about worked him out, but I'd like to give Wolves something else to think about - playing ELF centrally heightens the chances of playing through balls between CB/FB and I think Wilson is the ideal player for that. I'm always a fan of doing something that the opposition either doesn't expect, or doesn't want. They will have been training all week on how to deal with Brobbey and the physical threat - why not stick Wilson's pace in there and see what happens?

Agree. Brobbey hasn't been as effective in the last couple of matches, which I put down to defenders getting to grips with him.

First question
"what is the reaction amongst the players after last week"

would think they felt ashamed...

what a bloody dumb question

Missed the first bit - Barnes I'm guessing?

Shame because his other questions were better than usual. For example, asking about the fine line between analysing after a defeat and moving on.

<laugh> Barnes is always looking for the negative.....bit like some fair weather "fans" I know. Must be the years of sitting in the commentary box with Benno that does it!
