I'm not sure where you are getting this from. People feel deflated, and our run has to end somewhere and 2nd place is out of our hands.

I haven't seen anyone suggesting they didn't enjoy yesterday, on the contrary people seemed to have a great time.

I trust you had a fantastic time yesterday also :emoticon-0148-yes:
I had a very good day, good company helped. Went in to the Boxpark Fanzone (Avatar), loving the atmosphere, wished I had pinned a label on, with my id on it, I am sure there were plenty of not 606'rs there but I only met 1 person that I actually knew!

I am beginning to feel a bit sorry for a few on here, the fact is, that they will never be satisfied whatever happens, their constant negativity is starting to be treated as some kind of joke by others. If you can't enjoy a day out like yesterday, without the need for total success, there is something fundamentally wrong with your outlook in life...
In the seventy plus years that I have been following the the Saints, the best days of my life have been watching the Saints win at Wembley, I may not get another one!

Maybe it's easier for you to take because you actually saw that win at Wembley? Just a thought.

Second is gone gents. Absolutely zero chance and Tuesday is just a game too far for the boys.

It's a real shame because I was hoping Preston would have meant something. It's now just a pointless treck up north for no reason. Depressing.
I wouldn't say visiting the oldest professional football ground in the world is pointless :)

Plus there's a good chance of a win.

That is a very good point, I have seen 3 wins at Wembley but more losses, but '76, that was the best. I was really feeling the pain for you yesterday, the trauma of the digital tickets which truly had us struggling, and your car failure, that was horrendous. a win could have alleviated the bad bits. Sadly it wasn't our turn. At least I was there and able to watch it. Give some sympathy for those that couldn't be there, that was their loss.

There's fors and againsts in that situation though Libby. Yes I'm lucky to have been at Wembley in 1976 to witness our only major trophy BUT you also have to be an old ****er like me to have managed it.
You've got years left to get another chance and without being morbid, if I had the choice it would be to be in your shoes. We could win the PL before you shuffle off. I'll probably miss that.

Yep, youth is wasted on the young lol.

I made my peace years ago that Saints won’t win anything major in my lifetime (I was born in the early 90s) that includes any league as well. Games like yesterday are a complete free hit for me so I don’t feel disappointed. When Azaz scored my immediate thought was “that’s too early” and I was sure City would at least equalise.

Hopefully we get a few more cup runs in the future, but yeah my thoughts in cups are “enjoy the ride, no chance we win the thing”

Thanks mate, luckily car was fine when I got back to it which I was mightily worried about on the train after forgetting about it all day.

That's a fair point mate.

To meet in the middle somewhat and move away from the success argument I'd be willing to add a decade onto my age to see prime Le Tiss and have proper memories of The Dell

I only take that Craig Pawson is a **** for not dealing with the City time wasting in injury time.

And what a ****ing joke, Man City having to time waste in 7 minutes of injury time against a second tier club.

I didnt want Arsenal to win the league before yesterday, but **** it - I'd love it if they won it now. Just love it.

Yeah I’ve flipped as well for exactly same reason (please read the thread before making any inappropriate comments) <laugh>

The Tom Curse doesn't work for me unfortunately, due to my uncanny ability to be right pretty much all of the time.
Come on Lincs; until it’s over, it’s not over. Simiple. Win Tuesday & it’s all on last game. Yep, 1% club (still) but a chance. Btw, I’m smashing the TSP prediction league so I’ve usually got a good guess at our Championship results & im confident of a win. Only question is score. Fingers x’d. UTS.

Funny how we are all so different. I did 76 which as you can imagine was out of this world but my pain y’day & even today is just the same as every ****ing SF loss I’ve seen over the last 50 years & I’ve seen them all.

I think we will beat Ipswich to set up any team out of 4 go up, but can't see Boro and Millwall failing to get a draw. Lets try and get 3rd and play the Northern Welsh brigade, don't think they will fancy us

The glass is not half full, or half empty...

It is both. That gives you a balanced life and, as a Saints fan, you need that. I have a feeling that the lads will use the feeling of heroic disapointment yesterday to beat Ipswich on Tuesday and give us a great final away day on Saturday.

Ipswich will get auto as there is no way they will not beat QPR on the final day at home as they’ve been on the beach for the past month. Millwall will beat Oxford and I Think Boro will lose at Wrexham, and we’ll sneak into 4th which means we’ll get the second leg at home against Boro, which could be crucial.
This play off will be much closer and tougher than 2 years ago as they’ve teams are all evenly matched unlike last time, and Boro have suddenly found form again.

This is it. At last, the first true test of Tonda. He’s had it easy up to now. But if he can’t lift this knackered bunch to thrash these East Anglian upstarts he should resign and hand over to that bloke who managed England for a few weeks until he was found guilty of taking bungs or something.

Where’s the blue ink FFS!

I do so want us to win. Got tickets for Preston and it would be nice if it meant something.

But que sera. Whatever. I’m sure Ipswich would have liked extra time on Saturday, but will be confident that the semi has left the team physically and emotionally drained. Like me

2-0 Saints please
