Even if we do stay up Jones has got a heck of a job to do to lift the players for next year. Surely this run is also hindering our recruitment opportunities. Being arguably the fourth worst team in the division also…

There can be no drifting along, with just a few tweaks here and there, along with a few loaned out players back in the team.
If that's the way the Summer pans out then I think Charlton will be in the bottom 3 by October, and may not re-emerge.
I don't think there will be much money for higher wages.
Frugal but canny recruitment is what we will likely need to rely on. I have huge doubts about NJ's ability to deliver that.

This is the crux of the matter.
We played with spirit on Wednesday.
On this coming Saturday the team might play with fight and fire, like it really matters to them. I hope we do play that way.
But where was the fire in the belly during all those weekends in the last few months when we lost game after game or let chances to win go begging because our team played in such a sluggish, lack-lustre fashion.
One more draw instead of a defeat since Christmas, and we would all have been celebrating with relief our safety in the 2nd tier a week ago.
Not counting the days with this nagging fear that we might still slip back into the 3rd Division.

Talk of Millwall fielding a weak side is being overplayed I think.
