I was in a Spoons Wednesday lunch-time, while at the bar, some guy probably slightly older than me, ordered a pint along with some other concoction that could be best described as a whiskey chaser. He already seemed the worse for wear before ordering but was no bother and it got me wondering, at what point do bar staff say you've had enough, time to go home, personally I think his last order probably finished him off lol. Not that i'd want to restrict the old fella, like I say it just got me wondering.

Dickhead
Trouble is I read that and it's like alcohol is to blame not the individual lol. Oh and let's promote our business while about it, alluding the devil of the demon drink. Just ban the ****s from driving ever again.

I don't get it mate, he's 78 years old ffs - why would you do something like that, I can't even get it to make sense. He would have known as well as you or me what happened in that case.

He's just asking for attention that he is severely going to regret getting.
Same mate, just can't comprehend why anyone would do such a thing, doesn't say if they caught anyone for the first attack 6 weeks ago or infact if it was the same person.
Is it a relative of the one of the two murderers, that sees it as some kind of warped revenge, obviously not wired up as any sane person, who knows?

I can only think this guy is possibly a relation of one of the murderers or has a grievance against the Bulger family for whatever reason. No right to do that, though. The scousers will make him pay badly for that, regardless of his age. It’s too much emotive of a subject over there to let it slide.

Isn’t diversity wonderful

If these guys are found guilty and turn out to be Pakistani nationals, we already have an agreement (2022) in place whereby they can be deported to Pakistan - presumably to serve their sentences there.

The bottom line for me is that, if guilty, they should a) serve the sentence and b) be deported and banned from returning to the UK for life.

Hopefully we are signing similar agreements with every nation from which there is significant immigration or asylum seekers.

Yeh that’s great mate but

Pakistan has periodically refused to accept the return of its nationals from the UK, including convicted criminals and failed asylum seekers. This has caused significant deportation delays for individuals like the Rochdale grooming gang ringleaders, who renounced their nationality to avoid removal. The standoff often stems from disputes over travel documentation, COVID-19 protocols, and, in some cases, political demands.

Key Aspects of the Situation:
  • Failed Deportations: Pakistan has refused to accept chartered flights carrying dozens of deportees.
  • Grooming Gang Standoff: High-profile criminals have avoided deportation by renouncing their Pakistani citizenship, leaving them stranded in the UK, while some reports suggest Pakistan wanted extraditions in exchange for accepting these individuals.
  • Negotiations and Leverage: The UK is considering visa sanctions against Pakistan for failing to take back its citizens. Conversely, Pakistan has requested the resumption of PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) flights to Britain as a condition for cooperating with deportations.
  • Previous Agreements: Despite a 2022 "Landmark returns deal" (Source 9) meant to increase removals, challenges persist in returning foreign national offenders
These challenges, as detailed in this report from Free Movement, can lead to complex legal cases. The situation remains a major point of contention in UK-Pakistan relations, as discussed in articles from UnHerdand GB News. Further, some deportees face delays as they challenge their repatriation, as noted in reports from The News International.

The stumbling blocks need resolving - but that's not impossible.

We also know from the case of the ISIS bride that we can remove British citizenship ... so we should do that for any renouncing foreign citizenship... that puts them in limbo but should at least ensure they can never resume residence in the UK ...
