Damn, I thought that it opened them up to a bigger deduction if they appealed and lost the appeal. Don’t know why I thought that.
Think that was always unlikely. Could have been to ensure the 6 points didn't get reduced.

It's not out of the question their points deduction might yet be increased, albeit for different reasons. Today's announcement confirms that Leicester have lost their appeal, but I haven't seen any mention of the outcome of the PL's own appeal. The PL have appealed against the failure to punish Leicester for submitting their accounts late - and originally there were rumours that such a failure could attract a one or two point deduction (on top of the PSR points deduction).

Nah they would have dealt with both appeals at the same time.

I don't think points deductions are the answer. The whole of this season has been a waste of time for Sheff Wed. There is no point supporting them and the deductions insult the fans. Why would you pay for a season ticket if a points deduction means you will be relegated.

If loads of teams in one league had points deductions, the title could be decided by financial and not football matters.

The solution is closer control of who owns clubs and how they are run before the event

I’m interested with those who’d prefer Pompey to go down rather than Leicester

I’m 100% rather Leicester go down

If we don’t go up I’d much rather we get two derbies than have to play the Foxes. Plus they deserve it for all the financial mismanagement that’s gone on. Plus it would be hilarious……

Both would be ideal

Simple really. Would I rather those feral ****s be really happy and celebrating in a few weeks time or them to be really miserable and downbeat about being back in the bottom two tiers after just two seasons?

No brainer imo. Can still hope for a league cup tie which is the only proper derby we'll get now anyway.

I do still want Leicester to go but preferably with the skates rather than instead of them.

But that’s a different question.

The question is not just which result would you prefer for Pompey.
Because I’m with you on that, and would give sane answer if asked which for Leicester too.

I’m saying if it had to be one of the other, I’d prefer Leicester to suffer it than Portsmouth. (Both is obviously the ideal scenario!)

I wantt Oxford to escape the drop and Leicester and Portsmouth to go down. There is also the issue of whether both teams surviving will have a bearing on next season. I feel Leicester will get bailed out next season and can see them as promotion candidates. I know pundits are saying relegation will destroy Leicester , my opinion is that someone will rescue them in the summer. They can be fixed over the summer is they stay up. I expect a new squad bext season if they stay up. Relegation will mean this process will take much longer....not sure thst Radio 5 pundits last week are correct that they are doomed. Rowett will not be there after May.

Portsmouth are very different. They have underachieved this season and never recovered from their injury crisises. I think they have more chance of relegation than Leicester. The fans are starting to get restless too. I think they are anpther candidate for new ownership if they stay up. Leicester should never had pounts deducted. Just feel that Portsmouth have under performed more than anyone else. Should be higher up the league with Mousinho but let down by recruitment. Pompey will be better un Champuomship next season and new owners would also help.

Both Leicester and Portsmouth relegations will make this league easier next season.

Nah it's the same question really? Perhaps not worded well - I will always want them to be miserable more than I will any other fanbase.

I'm really not that arsed about Leicester if I'm honest, yeah it'd be hilarious if they went down and their fans are arrogant but that's true of most clubs. Whereas I genuinely despise the skates with every fiber of my being.

Our fans became pretty arrogant/entitled after our 4 top 8 finishes tbh, can imagine we'd have been just as bad as them had we won the league and FA Cup 5 years apart. Very similar clubs and fanbases imo.

Plus reminding them of the 4-3 next season would be fun.

I literally couldn't give a sh*t about Leicester personally. It's just another fanbase among hundreds. I actually admire them because I think 2016 must have been the most incredible experience for any fan. I enjoyed that season in a vicarious way that I think most fans of mid/small size clubs did. I have no idea where the bitterness comes from, save for the 9-0. But that was our own manager's/players' faults.

To even mention them in the same conversation as Pompey spins my f&cking head.

I understand the argument of wanting the derbies. That's fine. But personally I just get more enjoyment from watching them struggle in the lower leagues. I don't need the risk that the derbies bring. At the moment we have bragging rights; let it stay that way for the next twenty years; f*ck 'em.

Agreed completely.

Fans who are really arrogant after some unexpected success
vs
Fans who literally spat at our players

It should be in no way remotely close.
Or

Fans who are really arrogant after some unexpected success

Vs

Fans who have a minimum of 6 fingers on each hand and marry their sisters.
