Lots of positivity around this kid at the moment, rightly so.
It's always hard to know how young players will turn out but Max's performances in pre season are eye catching.
So much so, that a report today says that Real Madrid are attempting to poach him before he signs any professional contract.
I think it might be another year before we, or any club, can actually offer him a pro contract and before then the player can go where he likes.
Not sure of the exact rules, I also read he can't move abroad until he is 18.

Going to be interesting watching his progress, because it looks like he is going to be in the spotlight, perhaps even getting first team minutes this year in the Premier League.

its incredible that he looks so comfortable playing in the first team but not only that he looked really dangerous. Also knew when to slow it down or attack.

He does look like he fits in , which is incredible for one so young, however he is probably too slight to survive very long at this level and will need to fill out and toughen up a bit IMO. Natural really for that to be the case.
Need to give him a couple of years, and then see where he is.

I think he might be too good for that. This guy may be playing in the first 11 by the start of next Season.

I don't like this:

The father of 16-year-old Arsenal starlet Max Dowman has hit out at a former coach over his claims to have played a role in the teenager’s rise.

Temisan Williams, a former under-12s assistant coach at Arsenal who now runs a coaching business, gave an interview to TalkSport in which he took some of the credit for developing the youngster as he progressed through the academy.

I think Rob Dowman should keep his mouth shut and not add to the circus building around Max.

I am sure the coach overplayed his role but that is going to happen. It's part of the football world. People wanting to somehow be connected with top players and tell their story. It's impossible to police it.

This does nothing but make the Dowman's father look petty and TBH I am sure Max will be embarrassed about his father lashing out in the press.

I hope this is not a sign of things to come - with Max's parents trying to take centre stage.

Arteta & Co. have to manage this kid carefully. The Tabloid Media is soo toxic he's going to need some protection.
Everything from here on in is going to get scrutinised

Agreed.
That’s why I think his dad should keep quiet.
I hope he doesn’t turn out to be someone seeking the limelight.

I thought it would take this kid a couple of years - I was wrong.
He's at a level beyond anyone else in our team except Saka (near Saka's best).

If he keeps developing, he's going to be crazy good.

Couple of areas to watch and correct:

1) Striking the ball - he needs a lot of work. He should spend a lot of time on shots and learn from players like Eze. Right now he does not have a pure strike and I have never seen a top player who can't strike the ball purely.

2) Attitude - some early, though not significant (yet), signs that the fame is affecting him. In the England U19 game he scored a great goal after a mazy run, but ran off pointing at himself in celebration. Hated that. It was very Bellighamaesque with his 'who else?' celebration. Bellingham has the worst attitude of any young footballer I have ever seen and won't reach his potential because of it. Someone needs to sit Max down now and steer him correctly. His father should sit him down and show him his England goal celebration and ask him 'what the **** was that?'.
I want him to be a Dennis Bergkamp professional, not a Jude Bellingham type.
Dowman needs to understand that the same media lording him now will be the ones who will try to destroy him in the not too distant future.

I find all the hype youth players from the big clubs get ****ing nauseating but seeing him in the flesh last night and he's clearly the real deal.

Insanely good at that age.

He's definitely a massive talent and, injuries permitting, he should go on to have a spectacular career.

I was very concerned at how much we were relying on him to create something yesterday, though.

There were plenty of experienced international players on that pitch who should have shown what they're about and instead, they passed that responsibility onto a 16-year old.

Hopefully, we never see most of them ever again after this season.

Well done yesterday btw. Thoroughly deserved win. We got exactly what we deserved. Hadn't heard of your coach before, but he looks like a promising, upcoming manager and has had some big scalps already in his early managerial career. Only 33 years old too!

Yeah I thought we were excellent and was by no means a smash and grab. Showed great spirit to come back and get the winner after you equalised when many teams would fold.

Surprised how open you were in midfield and at the back. Your biggest strength is your defensive solidity so it seemed daft to commit so much and help us make it a proper cup tie.

What's the deal with that short corner routine you did a lot by the way? Is that something you do regularly? Surely would have been better to just keep slinging it in the box.

Felt sorry for the kid today - brought on in a performance like that when he should have started.
How the **** can Madueke ever be getting a game?
Poor Dowman hardly got the ball because our midfield is absolutely ****.
