Easter 1979- we had games at Oldham and Preston away... me and other lads I went to school with travelled up by various means - went to the Oldham game then made our way to Blackpool where we stayed overnight, some sleeping in cars and some acually on benches along the Prom - spent the next day in Blackpool - travelled over to Preston for the game (recall we got walloped) then back to Leicester - we were all 19 years old - special days ... met up with 4 of those lads for the recent FA Cup game at Saints and Watford last game.

Thing that sticks in my mind (apart from how ****ing cold it was!) is that sometime in the early hours kipping outside in Blackpool the Old Bill turned up... thought 'oh **** we're for it' but they just asked what we were up to - after we told them they just said 'OK then lads, we'll keep an eye out for you..." and continued on their patrol ... can't imagine that happening these days. Games gone.
 
Seeing Millwall's number 5 Cooper going to ground from a Boro midget is amusing to see. He even saw the amusement of it himself and quickly got up and moved on, before being beckoned back by the ref and booked.

I think Boro should have put this game out of reach by now, but the way it stands only one goal in it.

Everyone is getting relegated anyway (some twice even)

Great news for the wives of Surrey Quays who can be rutted for an extra couple of hours by their bit on the side knowing the old man will be in the pub all afternoon.
