I can't wait for RTB's match thread so we can all forget about Harry Kane and a bunch of friendlies ...

... on the other hand these days must be absolutely dragging for the Mags.

Before the derby this game could've become bit of a friendly, from our point of view, but a win could now mean Europe is a real possibility. We have more players to choose from and the team will get a great welcome after doing the double over Newcastle. Players like Talbi, Rigg, Brobbey, Hume, etc, are all starting to really shine now and the team spirit looks as good as it ever has.

We're in the position whereby we really have to go for wins now, draws won't really help, so we should see a more open game. Spurs are in the same boat, although theirs has a few holes, so it should be an interesting game. I'm someone who's actually pleased they have a new manager, I think it'll give the game an extra spark and there'll definitely be more attention on it now.

The Spurs fans will be a little cockier now but a Sunderland goal could see their hearts sink, two goals and they could start booing the new man before half-time which would break their own record. De Zerbi likes, in fact insists, his keeper plays out with his feet so that should be interesting with Brobbey bearing down on him. He's a bag of nerves, at the best of times, and this match is absolutely critical.

I don't like Spurs and would love to see their first game, next season, being at home to Lincoln, wonderful thought. We were once driving up to Roker, for the game when an Alfie Conn shot hit both posts and came out. We were behind a Spurs coach near Catterick and holding up sheets of A4 with various messages in marker pen. The skylight opened and a breeze block came hurtling out which smashed in front of us as I swerved onto the hard shoulder. We went to the police station at Catterick and caught up with the coach pulled up at the side of the road ... predictably our last message, as we drove slowly past, was ****ERS <laugh>

It was a long drive, every home game, so we had to make our own entertainment!

Lots of spuds not happy with the De Zarbi appointment and I think an early goal will rock them. Potential banana skin for us though, new manager bounce and all that, but if we're on our game we have nothing to fear.

It's just wonderful that, with 7 games to go, it's Spurs who are bricking it while it's a nice day out for us ...

... back in August we were thinking we'd be in a fight with Leeds and Burnley to cling on.

Crowd will be bouncing, players returning and fitter than the Derby, players will be chomping at the bit to get on the pitch and enjoy the well deserved atmosphere. I hope we give them a massive welcome onto the pitch and keep the place bouncing all 90 mins.
An early goal and I think we will be hard to stop, we are flying again and should get back to winning ways at the SOL.
As smug says their keeper will not fancy big Brobbey running at him :D
Just get at them from the off and dont let them rest on the ball, Im not sure about their new gaffer, the kind of football he likes to play probably doesnt suite a relegation battle, some of their players also will have an eye on their summer move, Granit will enjoy the game as well, he played in a few North London Derbys, I cant wait

Looking forward to this one, I think we can really get at them with an aggressive high press. Their keeper is dodgy as ****, we should be peppering the shots at him.

Rigg should definitely keep his place, seen a rumour that Ballard is out for the rest of the season; hopefully that's not true but it will be good the see Onien get a little run.

4-1 to the lads.

Never liked Spurs either

Incidentally, a little bit of Trivia

1st time I ever saw SAFC win was in 1969 at WHL, 1-0, courtesy of a Mike England on goal.

I was stood on the shelf with a mate from school who was a spurs fan

At half time the record 'chitty Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was played. Better than todays ****!!

Funny how I can remember Trivia like that from years back and not what happened yesterday

Was at WHL the year before when a certain James Greaves esq scored 4 goals in a 5-1 victory

FTYs!!

I never thought England looked like a football player, more of a car salesman or an estate agent …

Gilzean was a chemistry teacher and Ralph Coates was a hair stylist <laugh>

Oof, hope that Ballard rumour isn’t true.

Other lads have already proven that they are capable of stepping up in his absence but he adds so much to us in both boxes.
