Here's the thing.
I'm not in favour of this. In fact I think we're beyond the point of salvation.
But the hard truth is, stacked up against every other name being mentioned, which let's be honest included people who haven't managed a game in a decade or more, De Zerbi is the biggest name. By a distance. For the fact that he has very recent PL experience and has also managed a big club who are also run a bit like an asylum, Marseille.
I'd imagine it was between him and Dyche and from the sound of it, both wanted a proper contract to do it. Granted De Zerbi wants longer than Dyche but I make them pretty even in terms of securing our survival, and beyond that De Zerbi is the clear favourite to be a success in the long run.
And yes, this is where we are right now. We've snookered ourselves so badly that the only two shots remaining are Dyche or De Zerbi. I can't see our arrogant tosser players listening to a word Dyche says in his salt of the earth east midlands accent. And there is also the very real concern that he totally failed at Forest.
So the choice has been made for us. By a combination of our own incompetence and circumstances beyond our control.
