Interesting selection there....no big club was in for Berbatov and Modric when we were and van der Vaart was surplus to requirements at Madrid. They are also the three counter examples people give as driven by Levy when I say he doesn't interfere in football decisions. I don't really think they were more exciting signings than Son, Eriksen and Perisic were. Or how Simons, Kudus and Gray could turn out given time.

Man United, Bayern and Marseille were all interested in Berbatov. The player himself has confirmed this in various interviews. There were strong rumours at the time that we reached a gentleman's agreement with United that we would sell them Carrick if they stepped back from Berbatov.

Modric was strongly linked to Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle. Which is the reason why we, quite unlike ourselves, got the deal sealed in April long before the season had finished.

Simons & Kudus could be as exciting as Modric or Berbatov given time? Jeezo man that is outrageous to say.

Archie Gray could turn out to be a useful player but I doubt he will ever been seen as an exciting signing.

The majority of top signings or signings in general have little competition as each club has their own specific needs and targets. It took about 7 years for us to even receive an official bid for Kane.

But the Spurs fan base went crazy over those signings, we haven’t had that feeling in years now where we all universally agree it’s a huge addition.

The lack of ambition in January from the board may even cost us our place in the Premier League. The footballing side of things has been a mess for quite some time and it’s now finally caught up.

Added to this the fact that we always seem to massively overpay for players in whom there is no other interest.

No one was in for Richarlison, Solanke, or Simons yet we made all of them £60m players.

Kudus, Ndombele and Lo Celso at least had other strong interest.

But usually the first sign that a player isn't worth breaking a record for is the fact that no one else seems to rate them.

Simons had interest from Chelsea, while Solanke was paying English Tax

Richy can't be covered by hyperinflation of transfer fees, mind

I don’t even think it’s an English tax anymore.

It’s effectively a premier league tax due to the finances each club now has, lessening the need to sell their best players for anything less than top dollar.

Really concerning seeing this attitude, especially on r/coys, which boils down to "Well I put in some effort into cheering on the team on Sunday and they didn't turn up, so why should I bother putting in the effort again?"

Gee, I wonder why the atmosphere in our stadium has been iffy for a couple of years...?

Chelsea never actually put in a formal bid for Simons. Spurs had a free run for him and happily paid the £51.8million fee
Rumours circulating that Simons wants out and trying to get back to Barcelona.....with a €40m fee being mentioned! Another great Spurs investment!

The atmosphere has been iffy because the football has been ****.

People who spend £100-200 per match at a time of financial hardship for so many are entitled...to at least watch a team of overpaid primas play like they care.

Stop turning the players into the victims in this equation.
"I paid this so I can be arm-foldy when I don't get what I want" is definitely an attitude that isn't going to make anybody sound entitled...

The atmosphere has been iffy because the football has been ****.

I think that it goes a lot deeper.

- The football's been ****.
- The coaches have been ****.
- The recruitment has been ****.
- The medical team is ****.
- The players are either injured far too regularly, largely disinterested and/or ****.
-Those in the boardroom have evidenced. zero interest in addressing/ability to. address the above **** SHOW.

I tendered my resignation in 2019. I've maintained that exile (after 50 years of loyal support) because of the final point on that list. I'm shocked that people have continued to pay serious money to Daniel's cabal of f*cking incompetent wa*nkers to phone in a disgusting level of disinterested incompetence. I doubt that they will do again in such numbers.

I will return when being this football club is taken seriously as a priority...and not before then.

Love the badge. COYS!!!

P.s. Can we have our swearing back please?

Most fans were happy with Frank and Lange though. It's easy to claim mistakes with hindsight.

If you have superior tools such as the "season compass" ,
you can objectively see the wheres and whens
(turns out that for this season twas possible to
objectively predict one dimension months in advance) .
