People who leave their shopping trolleys abandoned our local ( BIG ) Sainsbury’s car park -

It never used to be a problem , then one person started doing it and now several others do it .
So bloody lazy .
Leads to less car parking spaces .
The wife and me stop and one of us gets out and moves a trolley , we then use that car park space and each push a trolley back to the shop entrance .

There are plenty of trolley parking bays around the place , just so bloody lazy and annoying for the majority of shoppers .

I'm a bit petty about this but there should be an unwritten rule whereby you walk on the left side of the path, like driving, stop these ****s who walk right in the middle and don't give an inch, and stop having to weave around people. When I was in Aus they seemed to have this.
Totally agree with this. And as a gentleman I always insist my wife or kids walk on the inside of me. If a car mounts the curb im dying first, that sort of thing.
So when I come across a female or youth maverick walking on the right side of the path it can often be the road side and it leaves me in a terrible position where im actually trying to bully them into the middle of the path by tightrope walkkng along the curb towards them.

Some rules would make life so much easier.

Historic nautical rules are to sail on the left port side to dock, same as an aircraft doors are on the portside, we drive on the left and let the wife and kids out on the port side, same in Australia, same on footpaths, because most men are right handed thats the steerbord/starboard side. These are the rules unless you are French.

I tend to play it safe and 'crawl' along the 'kerb' at a sedate pace and like Jim, I'm a gentleman and keep family on the inside...

Not that some people give a flying **** anymore as they March towards you 3 abreast, tapping at their i-phones....

Pensioners eh,what they like?
Think of a wedding, groom on the rightside of the church, a man sleeps on the rightside of a bed. My wife always walks on my left and gets ocd if it gets mixed up in a crowd.

About time the robbing bastards

The UK’s competition watchdog has ordered vets to cap prescription fees at £21 and proposed a price comparison website, after finding consumers had faced huge price rises and been “left in the dark” over bills.

The Competition and Markets Authority(CMA) said public satisfaction with the cost of services was “low” after an investigation into the £6.3bn market found “there is not strong competition between veterinary businesses”, with large chains dominant.

Written prescription fees will be capped at £21 for the first medicine and £12.50 for any additional medicines. The CMA had previously proposed a cap of £16.

Martin Coleman, the chair of the independent inquiry group, said: “Too often, people are left in the dark about who owns their practice, treatment options and prices – even when facing bills running into thousands of pounds.

“Our measures mean it will be made clear to pet owners which practices are part of large groups, which are charging higher prices, and for the first time, vet businesses will be held to account by an independent regulator.”

Legally binding measures include price lists, prescription fee caps, a price comparison website and mandatory branding by the large groups to increase competition and drive down prices.

Pet owners using a vet practice that is part of a larger chain can expect to see changes before Christmas, including standard price lists.

Practices must provide a written estimate in advance for any treatment expected to cost £500 or more, including aftercare costs, plus an itemised bill, excluding emergencies.

Average prices of vet services have risen “sharply and much faster than general inflation”, by 63% between 2016 and 2023, the watchdog found. It said it had not seen evidence of a strong link between price increases and investments in quality.

To be fair,my wife does walk on the left of me but she's a fast walker and nowadays she's normally 20 yards ahead of me,I have thought about putting her on a shorter leish!!

But here's a genuine question.Does a man necessary sleep on the right side of the bed? I generally sleep nearest the door(even on holiday)as in the event of someone breaking into the house, apartment, villa, whatever we're in,I can get up quickest and grab the sawn off...Chivalry at it's finest:emoticon-0102-bigsm

The only tapping when i'm walking is with my walking stick.

I sleep on the left and furtherst from the door. It's due to curcumstance really. She goes to toilet on average about 28 times per night so it's much easier for her to be on that side as the left side is a bit tight for getting in and put of bed.
I maintain possession of the baseball bat though and have already rehearsed how I would spring into action by rolling over her, bat in hand, and down the stairs in 6.9 seconds.
