I get a txt message yesterday, telling me I have an appointment in a hospital in Plymouth. No mention of where. So I call the number and they tell me the address, I ask why it wasnt on the txt, "Data protection, anyone could get that txt and pretend they were you"
I had this same scenario a week ago, txt message, no address, but I got a letter the day after the appointment with the address of the hospital on it.
Am I going mad? (probably) but couldnt someone have gotten the letter and pretended they were me? (why anyone would pretend to be me is a mini series, not a thread on a footy site) and why would they turn up at hospital?

You are going mad mate....along with the rest of us. Modern life is creating the new endemic illness......mental breakdown...and it is superceding heart illness and cancer as the arriving pandemic.
I'm afraid I can't provide you with reason or evidence of optimism for any improvement.

I get similar for appointments at Sunderland Royal. I get a text message with a link to a website where I have to enter my date of birth and the 4 digit pass code given in the text. Once I do that I get details of my appointment and can download a letter confirming the appointment.

I can only imagine that sometime in the past someone complained that the NHS was sending out information in an unsecure way. That's usually how these kind of things come about. The blame culture we have now is responsible for a lot of the hoops we have to jump through.

Agreed. Modern life as it is, is poor for mental health. It's really important to disconnect from all of the crap and have time away - in nature, doing hobbies or both.

I say this while typing on an internet message board, on a short break from work. I realise the hypocrisy!

Nice day out there so a stroll outside seems like a great plan...

Excellent, already had cancer, is this like some kind of tick list before you do die?
