think its Forest next...2pm Sunday 22nd March...hope so...cos I am going with my youngest

The fightback, the resilience, and the respectable result last weekend, plus the very positive performance on Wednesday night have restored my optimism. I’m still not a fan of Igor the Interim or Richie the Roller (whose vital goal at Anfield has threatened to upset my regular assessment of him). But the team has started to play like a proper Spurs outfit, and I don’t much care how that has come about! Now for the next challenge. Forest are in the same boat as we are – and there ain’t room for us both right now. So - from 1957 - here’s my (I hope) rousing chorus to cheer us on! I don’t like being “Down Below”! (Jeri Southern, if you were asking.)*

We must realise – we can’t win a prize.
But we’re not so bad: let me put you wise.
Champions League on Wednesday night – that was a work of art!
Relit the fire! What a show! Stirred some joy in my heart!

Made some crazy slips, some were lazy slips!
Now it’s surely time we should take a grip.
Tottnam will climb back up the league, now we have made a start,
Kindling a fire down below, giving hope to my heart.

Now that we’ve ended our slumber:
Anfield – we’ve turned it about!
Forest, we’ve now got your number:
We won't let the fire go out!

I'll admit that I am the quiet type.
This can all be changed when the team show fight.
Call up the physios’ brigade: strengthen the team to start!
Now there's a fire down below, now let’s go, now let’s go -
Let’s tear the Forest apart!

Now that we’ve ended our slumber, etc
I'll admit that I am the quiet type, etc

Prediction: Spurs 3 Nottingham Forest 0
Scorers: Richarlison, Solanke, Tel
Cheers, Spurf! <cheers> <cheers> <cheers>

(* better than the Shirley Bassey version, I’d say.)
