I think Serge in his interviews, not just yesterday is trying to keep a lid on his goalkeeper frustrations, the inability to control a ball, lack of concentration, injuries, etc and as importantly the number of games. I think its been a total shock to him, even though he signed up for it. Will be prepared to go again come August.?
I think there’s a chance that this season was a perfect storm of siege mentality, brilliant squad harmony, lot of slices of luck, and clinical finishing.
Even if that’s true, it will have built confidence in our lads that we can go and beat anyone. We have the individual players to win a game. I can understand going to Ipswich and setting up defensively and hoping to nick one. What I don’t get, is the total mentality shift to go to places like WBA who haven’t won all year and set up like we’re a lower league team playing ma city in the cup. We should be at teams like that from the first whistle, breaking their spirit and confidence before cruising to an easy victory. Baffling tactics recently. It’s rather worrying.

I've always said, they can't score when you have the ball in their half.

Yeah we've changed to suit the opposition a few times despite being the better side, forget who the other was recently, maybe qpr?

I was thinking actually of a film some might have seen, cant remember what it was and I think it reflects where we are at the moment. It was a steam ship and it started off well, then started to run out of fuel, so they started to pull the ship to bits to burn to keep it going.
It’s the boat home from “ around the world in 80 days”

To be fair we had a couple of chances to go 1 up before they scored. McBurnie should have pulled the ball back to Gelhardt who was in a much better position with an open goal in front of him. He chose to shoot from a narrow angle and we don't score. Awful decision.

He’s wearing the protective boot so this must be from last night. I’m not picking on Coyle as there are others just as bad for this, if not worse, and he does run through brick walls for us but I think this is an issue in general at City and has been for a few years under several head coaches.

I mentioned this not too long ago and got shot down for spreading rumours when I said some were on the piss the night before a 12:30 kick-off.

We didn't lose that game because of Panda. Too many others gone off the boil.
Some will blame the set up/formation but a tackle is a tackle and a pass from A to B is a pass whatever the set up.

This is what they mean when they say settling players into the club - always taking them to pubs and clubs <laugh>

He was in Empress the night we lost to Bristol City and a fan had a go at him for being on the lash after a poor performance/result.

Provided he's not on the lash the night before a game, big deal.

don’t mind players having a drink at right time , they are only human. But is dancing around and standing in a protective boot the best idea when your team has no full backs at key point of season , it’s about optics , unless he knows his season is already done ?
Optics? Was he behind the bar serving? :emoticon-0147-emo:

Tbf, I don't think it was Jak's intention to set us up to be defensive.
He started with effectively a front 3 (McB, Gelhardt, Koumas) and I'm sure he wanted Coyle and Millar to bomb forward at every opportunity as attacking wing backs rather than full backs.
It just didn't happen. Too many having off days. And you can't legislate for Panda's **** goal kick, nor for Hughes's **** up on the ball followed by his stupid pull back that (rightly) gets him sent off.
Had McB squared to Gelhardt early on, as he should have done, it might have been a different story.
But for me the set up did look wrong from the off, particularly in midfield where we were once again outplayed.

I agree, going out for a drink after a game is no big deal but the fact he’s in a protective boot is weird. This suggests he’s out for the season.
