Where has the 5 at the back come from? What made him change to this? January incomings or fear of dropping someone
Im also curious with this. It's not like we had a bad January. In fact it was the best in a number of seasons and then from February we've changed a 5 at the back regardless of the opponent.

Just watched a couple of replays of Hughes sending off.

It'll be interesting to discover just exactly what a straight red was given for.

Because I'm sure I can't tell.

He wasn't last man
He wasn't denying a goal
He wasn't malicious

All 3 red card offences un ticked...
I think it was soft, but it was deffo the last man:

the most frustrating thing is that Hughes had 3 chances to sort it his feet out and didn't

I wonder what the deal is with Joseph, I think we always look better with him on the pitch, outside of when hes brought on centrally and expected to hold the ball up.

Holden would definitely be the biggest loss if he went. Fortunately he's got no interest in doing so ( ATM )
HT2 not to get in a bun fight, but you have defended him before. His title is defensive coach is it not. did he not see Millar get rinsed on Tuesday and yet knowing they would attack that side again, the defensive coach in line with the manager decide to roll the dice again. As a defensive coach, where the **** is the improvement. Where is the improvement in the keeper, because surely the defensive coach speaks or works with the GK coach.

He's looked like a rabbit caught in a set of headlights at least twice for me and from memory he's flapped at the ball at least once.

Like I say,I never involve myself in pile-ons but he's looked miles off it today but that also applies to the 10 in front of him(now 9).

If we had a decent #2 then I'd be tempted to say he needs a game or 2 out the firing line. His kicking absolutely needs working on and if such a simple thing isn't being worked on the. Our GK coaching teams needs to be asked serious questions.

But what I will say, yes it was a poor goal kick, compared to what you'd expect from a pro GK ( or any adult GK TBH ) but it hit the half way line area, they reacted much better and quicker to exact same kick our players failed to do so. Which there's no excuse for, nor is there any excuse for the absolute terrible marking and defending when the ball came in to the box, which seems to happen game after game.

If, and it is a big if

City can keep it at 1-0 for as long as possible, these haven't won this year. They concede a lot of late goals, and it could get really nervy. Obviously, if they get a second then it'll be a long way back.

dunno, look at where the ref is looking. I don't even really think Hughes fouled him, slightly grabbed his shirt and their lad makes a meal of it, but Wallace or whoever is is to the lef tof hughes is closer than Ajai. Was just daft. He let the ref make the decision.
