Yeh, I'll give you the Fred Dibnah one but the compass one I though was a gimme.
You're an engineer BT, of course you know about magnetic north!
My wife and daughter have about 6 degrees between them and I'm not sure either of them would know how to use a compass let alone know why they pointed where they do!
I knew the Dibnah and compass answers but there were still a lot I didn't know.

I once had a 16 year old Saturday girl working for me, daughter of a friend. I tried to explain how a compass works and got her facing north which I said was the direction she was facing. I got her to turn to her right and said which direction are you facing now, and she said north as it was the direction she was facing.
Same girl, after I’d been to see City at West Ham the previous week. She asked where it was and I said London, not far from East Ham. I then told her it was only five miles from Boiled Ham and she said oh I didn’t know that.
She’s now a very well off teacher, teaching French and Spanish.

6 degrees?? isn't that the approximate difference. No no let's not go there.

I just presumed it was still part of the school curriculum.

Any general knowledge quiz Is easy if you know the answer
Young people in general these days just Google what they want to know they don’t store info like we did

Don't learn much general knowledge watching love island, married at first sight, drag race, big brother and a whole host of similar ****e.

Poor kid got some tough questions there.
On the odd occasion ,you do see some really intelligent youngsters.I've seen a few getting 8 or 9 then going on to hold a team together and accumulate the majority of points gathered in the final round.I'm guessing that the ones like that simply live and learn and ask questions...not a bad trait,it's lovely to see :emoticon-0148-yes:

I've got a grandson who's 8,bit of a toe rag at times and has some form of tourettes, swears at random?

Always asking questions and just the other day he was asking my wife how her parents had died? She told him that they both had died of lung cancer, questions followed...What's that, where's your lungs, couldn't they just take them out, can't you live without them, couldn't they have taken just one out, would they live with just one etc, etc.

She said "Well yes,it's possible to live with one but it wasn't feasible as it had progressed too far'....Next question and I sh!t you not," Can you live with just one testicle"?:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

After that I'd describe him as a bit of an oddball:emoticon-0103-cool:

Name me three number one singles from Taylor swift without googling??

You must be as thick as pig **** cos you don’t know it

General knowledge, is mostly acquired with age - I have quite a broad range of general knowledge but, my g'kids know far more about modern culture, pop, films etc etc; it's all knowledge, just different to mine. PS I can name one Taylor Swift single, Cruel Summer - only 'cos I like it!
