I presume the a63 west Hull to Hessle was one lane closed for flooding again today... lets hope they have installed drainage and I mean proper drainage in this underpass and have a budget to keep it unblocked...

Call me cynical or a sceptic but my guess would be that was the reason for the delay. It seems odd that the road was by and large finished ages ago but the big pump station was only started on a shortish while ago.

The pumping station was started in July 2022 and the works to connect the pumps to the drainage system were completed in August 2025.

So proud to be English you sneer at our patron saint, silly ****.
I'm proud to be English any day of the year, not just on some randomly applied "Saints" day for a man who never set foot on English soil but was picked up because he fought for God overseas quite well. **** that. Happy to celebrate England on "St Georges day", but St George can **** right off.
