And now for something even more different!!!

Youngest Daughter has been under a bit of stress lately with her house being flooded and her B.P has been through the roof on our machine.Made an appointment to have her B.P measured and was met with this 'Do It Yourself' method...What the ****?

Looks like a sex toy for a male elephant - allegedly .

We had a sandwich shop behind where I worked in Sheffield , it had the ground floor corner of an old empty warehouse on a long lease . Funnily it went up in flames for no reason and then the whole building was later redeveloped without demolition .

There's one of them at our surgery, you don't see many people using it though.

That's the chosen method at hers, she did as instructed and it describes her readings as 'hypertension 2' which is dangerously high...She now awaits the Dr reviewing her results, not sure how many days or weeks that takes?...Quite appalling if you ask me.

Trouble is, you see a reading like that and get anxious and your pressure goes up even more.
I'm ok, with my condition I have regular visits to the nurse for the full mot so don't have to use those machines.

It was Int’l Women’s day on Sunday , when it’s the Women’s day can we recognise the following :
All the roofers with effed up knees and fingers
All the road builders with the same
All the arthritic steel fixers with swollen fingers
All the brickies and hod carriers with shot hands and knees and hips
The tin bashers and welders
Plumbers Electricians
Farmworkers
The steel workers and engineers with asbestos filled lungs dying of cancer or not yet

I’ve only listed a few of the body breaking joint buggering trades that get no recognition compared to their counterparts . It’s not a them and us it’s my personal appreciation of people who over a long period do themselves in and are not appreciated in my opinion by anyone . The hospitals are full of them .
Then there’s the mental health ( proper) that can cause a bloke to feel worthless if he’s no longer ‘required’ and he takes the wrong way out .
Can’t list everyone sorry .

Since those occupations are traditionally (and still mainly) jobs for the male part of the population, why don't we recognise them on International Men's Day (November 19th)?

Do we recognise men for much these days other than misogyny or being sex pests etc ? which seems to be a current focus . Some are like that but the vast majority not .
Men tend to just get one with it - life that is and work . Over the last 5-10 years men bashing has become the norm , some deserve it of course .
I’ve never questioned why I’ve worked for 52 years , just thought it’s what I had to do - maybe I’m the fool .
