LIVERPOOL v SPURS

I've predicted us to win 3-0 on every match so far. How can I possibly be fifth?
I know I thought that too. Generally it's been low scoring and when you pick up points for a correct score you are in a minority and you pick up points for goalscorers. Look at where remembercolinlee is as our premier negative predictor. PleaseNotPoll nearly always predicts a win and he is not a million miles away. It shows that points for goals and goalscorers are important.

If you’d predicted Spurs to win every game 100-0 with each squad member and OGs scoring a least a hat-trick, you’d have 35 points for the wins plus 78 for goalscorers, totalling 113 points and the joint lead!!
Interesting

EDIT: Predicting Spurs to lose every game 1-2 with Richarlison scoring would be worth 118 points!

Interesting
That was part of the thinking behind my 3-0 strategy but I thought getting the occasional correct score was also important. Should have crunched the numbers.

“Oh my Nicholson and my Shreeves so long ago!”

I witnessed a strange football game on Tuesday evening. It began with some very strange selection decisions (including a shock outing for our reserve keeper). It continued with Spurs players slip-sliding away – apparently it began in the warm-up – on a pitch that other teams had complained about (did they pack only one pair of boots for each player? Was no research done before the match by the management team?). And it featured a bit of a fightback in the second half, especially when the substitutes arrived. In the midst of all this we saw the appalling sight of the manager, having harshly decided to withdraw the goalkeeper after 15 minutes, absolutely deliberately ignoring the upset player as he walked off. Having witnessed this, I have totally done with him. He can’t go soon enough for me. The team are in somewhat dire straits. They need support and care, they need understanding and encouragement. What he did was disgraceful. Never mind the football. As one human being to another, that is off the charts. Utterly out of order. So that fuels my song this week. I love this version from the Concert for George. Brings tears to my eyes. I gently weep.

I look at the pitch, see young Kinsky is walking -
While Tottnam fans gently weep.
I look at him go but Igor isn’t talking -
Still Tottnam fans gently weep.

I don't know why the club has hired you.
You have no clue and no love.
I don't know how we haven’t fired you.
We don’t require you!

I look at the league and I see that we’re sliding,
While Tottnam fans gently weep.
Too many mistakes – and there’s no time for hiding -
Still Tottnam fans gently weep.

I don't know how you were recruited:
I never trusted you!
I think it’s time you were outbooted!
We’ve had enough of you

I look at the pitch, etc or…
[LOVE version:] I look from the wings at the way you’re behaving]
While Tottnam fans gently weep…….
I look at him go, etc or…
[LOVE version:] As I'm sitting here feeling angry and raving]
Still Tottnam fans gently weep……….

Oh, oh,….. etc
Yeah, yeah, etc
ooh
