http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16230713.stm Is going nowhere this guy is fast climbing my all time city greats list.
Read that earlier myself Sussex. Great quotes from Whitts. Maybe he could hardly have said anything else to be honest, but I'll take that.
I bet he's glad he came back to us after signing for Forrest. He'd have been in a relegation fight with the trees rather than a promotion push with us.
I reckon this guy would suit Paul Lambert and his way of thinking down the the ground. There have been quiet whispers about Norwich being interested in Peter Whittingham and not just recently, goes back to last season. Personally I would love to see him playing for us but it may or may not ever happen.
Thai - go to the top of the class as winner of the "stating the bleedin' obvious" competition.........................
hmmmmmmmmm got bit by a dog today sparkey, so this young blue heeler was retired to my book i am currently reading as my 2nd best friend
to go off on a tangent, in terms of ambitions of players, i still wonder why miller came to us, the club people expected to be mid table in the championship.. it couldnt have been for money, and given he was on good money before, and playing CL football before you do wonder what his motives were to play in the championship at the age of 31..
I don't think there were clubs queuing up for him and he just wanted to get out of Turkey ASAP, Malky was there at the right time and sold the club to Miller. Then when Rangers came sniffing Miller said that he would not go against the deal he'd made with Malky.
good point, though to counter that there were several clubs in for him in january, birmingham, fiorentina and other turkish clubs apart from bursaspor. at the time he was in line for europes golden boot such was his goalscoring form for rangers, so it looks like one spectacular fall from grace to join us, hey i'm not complaining, just that i'm very surprised a lower end PL side wasnt looking at him, he has goals in him at any level, and works his socks off and was available for 1m euros so easily worth a punt..
Swamp, I think the above quote slightly undermines the work Malky put in, over what turned out to be several months, to sell CCFC to Miller. I don't for one sec think he came just to get out of Turkey and like DJ mentioned, he had a late chance to go back to Rangers but showed some loyalty to MM... very rare these days.
Whittingham is turning out to be " Key to the city " type material to Cardiff , along with Malky & Miller . I gave Cardiff little chance at any success for the next few seasons , someone forgot to tell some of the players that though . Couple of fitted pieces in January & your through IMO
Thanks Breezy, that's the general feeling we're getting, if it doesn't happen this season so be it, the club is doing it the right way and we will get there, crucial that we keep Malky though.
