Tottenham Hotspur have lodged a £5m bid for 23-year-old FC Twente goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov. Anybody know about this?
http://www.insidefutbol.com/2011/12...nch-e6m-swoop-for-fc-twente-goalkeeper/54758/ Don't believe it. Sky linked us with that Zelijkp Brkic guy again yesterday, he's on loan to Siena from Udinese I think, apparantly earning major plaudits. I say forget 'em both, Brad's easily got another decade in him!
I love these expressions 'lodged' where did they lodge it on FC Twente goalposts? Small man in white shirt seen posting notes all around Europe, it is believed he is lodging bids! Smaller man in blue shirt runs behind.
Unavailable until the summer, though. As we're talking about Russian keepers, what happened to Igor Akinfeev? He was supposed to be headed to his pick of the top clubs in Europe, but he's still at CSKA Moscow.
Not good news for the ol boy, a cruciate rupture is rare for a keeper. http://www.pfc-cska.com/news/clubnews/?id=5225
It seems fairly logical that we'd be looking for a young keeper to replace Gomes in one of the next two transfer windows, so we're being linked with loads. Krul was another suggestion recently.
Krul looks a really good keeper. The Geordies wouldn't let him go without a fight, though. Ashley would probably be stupid enough to try and hold Levy to ransom - the way he did L'pool over Carroll.
Krul's going to be a top keeper no doubt but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't leave Newcastle to be understudy to Friedel at the moment. Friedel looks as though he really can play on for another good few seasons and I'm all for it, think he's been great, he even said in an interview that until he feels unable to perform, he'll continue to play at the highest level. Wasn't there also reports saying that he was hoping for a new contract extension already?
I thought Yann Sommer, Basle's keeper was excellent against Uniteds general bombardment, I think he's worth 'keeping' an eye on, only 23 aswell.
