Can anyone afford their own house nowadays?I

Anyway....

Hopefully the hate crime police don't move up to Glasgow for the 8th March Scottish Cup showdown between Rangers and Celtic...There'll be an empty stadium if people are systematically removed for naughty banter!!!
That touches nicely on the whole hypocrisy.
Arrests and international media coverage for a few shouting 'rent boy' that hardly anyone heard. Easy targets for the faux outraged. But all sorts goes on all the time, at football (on and off the pitch), protests, daily life, wherever.
Batshit ****ing bonkers Britain, and it pisses me off more & more each day. (I know I shouldn't let it, but it does).

Yes this is something I don't quite get.. there's been a lot of backlash against poverty chanting recently and yet nothing about this?
And I can guarantee a larger percentage of the away supporters chanted ‘we pay your benefits’ than the home supporters chanted ‘Chelsea rent boys’.

Oh wait, I forgot, class isn’t a protected characteristic under the Equality Act. Please carry on, Southern posh ****s.

Same announcement made at the Bristol match... perhaps they rehearsing....
Chelsea have been known vas rent boys for years due to the ridiculous wages they have paid...now the lgbt pride brigade have jumped on the bandwagon and turned it around.. would nt have been an issue with a 3pm Saturday untelevised match

I certainly can in Hull!
Average house prices in Hull must be what,£200k,it's probably a more favourable option to buy than private letting?

It's achievable in places like Hull or where I live but in some areas it's near impossible.I watched question time the other night from Bristol, average house price £400k?The youngsters in College there are looking at leaving for foreign shores, that's an appalling indictment on our Country.

There's also a lot more kids having to stay much longer with their parents than they've ever had to,just to try and save up a deposit(10% or whatever). For those that don't have that luxury to fall back on,they're forced into renting some mouldy sh!those with a faulty boiler and a vermin issue for in some cases upwards of a £1000 a month...

Affordable housing is a massive issue at present and we can all thank our lucky stars that we got on the housing ladder when we did. :emoticon-0148-yes:

The rent boys chant was used earlier than the big wages and has history as a homophobic chant - https://www.outandout.football/p/the-mission-to-eradicate-the-chelsea/

I don't love the way that it is tackled but we shouldn't ignore what it actually is.

It does beg the question though...

If rent boy is a slang term for a male prostitute and is punishable as a hate crime, what of Female Prostitutes and the slang labelling of them,is that also a hate crime or does that one slip under the radar?

I’ve heard that rumour but I also thought it went back to the 60’s and the area around there was known for male prostitutes?
It’s funny reading on here
Well I never heard anything….
Some did it
Maybe just a handful oo err
But they were told it wasn’t acceptable but did it anyway if the news is true and have already been arrested
Shame as the papers will make out it’s all the crowd

Take the average house price with a pinch of salt, plenty of first homes in hull at £100,000 ish. Mortgage on that would be close to or even under the rental costs.
Just need to be prepared to start at the bottom of the ladder, many want to jump on halfway up or more.

Highly possible I reckon that that is where it all came from.

I didn't hear anything and do think this is a bit of a storm in a teacup to be honest but it also is a homophobic chant. Both things can be true.

You're staying in the Hull West Premier Inn, which is not in Hull, it's in the East Riding. The MP for that area represents Hull West and Haltemprice, another Hull MP represents Hull and Cottingham. Get the effin' boundary extended, vastly extended.
I was considering booking the Premi

My local authority has two 2 bedroom houses available under social housing shared ownership. The full price is around the £400k mark. 25% (100k) + @£600pm rent plus service charges.

Good question!

Urban dictionary: "basically a male prostitute. It can also be used to call someone for no reason, to get on their nerves".

I don't like some of the abuse, sometimes vile abuse, I hear at football (and as said earlier, that's on the pitch as well as off it) and elsewhere, but FFS. Hate crime? World has gone mad with selective hypocrisy, agendas, faux outrage, etc. Let me step off.

There wouldn't be much in Hull at £100k that would appeal to many first time buyers who aren't qualified joiners, plumbers, roofers or sparks? You get what you pay for and what you save on the cost of the actual bricks and mortar, you'll splash out on making the home presentable and dry.

My cousin and his lass are up off Prinny Ave in a 4 bed Victorian terrace, probably valued about £150k,nice houses if you can get them but even they're looking to move on to somewhere a bit 'nicer' as in their opinion the area is in a bit of a decline.I was talking to his lass last time I was down and the properties they've been looking at are in the £220-£240k region?

Same with me to be fair,we're in a 4 bed terraced ex council house (£150k worth) in a reasonably decent area of Cumbernauld and were thinking about downsizing. Our house is well maintained(,I do most of it myself bar plumbing and electrics) but when I look at smaller properties in the £100-£110k range I look at the cost of refurbishment and quickly realise that £25-£30k of my profit will quickly vanish.

Anyway, back to the actual football, I’m quite shocked at just how poor Lundstram has been since returning from injury. To be honest, he wasn’t that great before injury but he seems significantly worse now. Trabzonspor and Rangers fans did say he’s slow, immobile and carrying timber.

The way he gets around the pitch, or the way he doesn’t get around the pitch, is concerning. These days, a defensive mid has to be a decent ball-winner, ball-player and athletic. Lundstram can put in a good tackle now and the and he’s decent at long balls but whenever we don’t have the ball or lose it in transition, it’s like playing with ten men. He’s so far off where he should be when we lose the ball and he cannot get back to where he should be.

Think we should just play Slater and Amir there from now on. I thought Slater did well as the deepest midfielder. Not the tallest or strongest but he’s tenacious, good at breaking up play with interceptions and tackles and actually has the legs to track back if we get hit on the counter.

Lundstram’s on north of £30,000-a-week and we’ll be paying most of that considering we couldn’t pay a loan fee.

The last few games his long passes have mostly been gash too.

Quite the cameo last night, topped off by stomping off the pitch a few seconds after the final whistle and tearing off his shirt the moment he crossed the touch line. I think he’s done.
