How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

I don't accuse Keir of anything, the only thought I have regarding him is that for someone who was a barrister, and not just any old barrister, he seems incredibly naive.

The problem I generally have with MP's in their public office job is that their experience of the role they are put in, is sometimes left wanting, but for someone of Starmer's previous position, I would expect his judgement to be better.

It seems reactive rather than proactive and it just makes him look dumb. He seems to want to please all the time, and I think that is causing him to make errors - when I say please, I mean pleasing the wrong people.

Although in the case of Trump & Co his hands are very much tied because of our trading relations, which if he went down any other route would be damaging to the economy and all of us, not forgetting defence as well.

I think this sums up Starmer's position pretty well. He's trying to keep everybody onside, and I think it's why he tries to smooth the path rather than react and make dramatic decisions. Like you say, he's reactive rather than proactive and at times it makes him look indecisive.

The Mandleson issue is a case in mind, but I can see how it's panned out. He's given Mandleson the benefit of the doubt and without any concrete evidence initially, he tried to defend him. It's come to a position now where it looks like he should have fired Mandleson right from the off, but that only really applies with the benefit of hindsight.

All of that said, I think Starmer is a pretty good statesman and seems to do quite well at forging relationships and representing the best interests of the UK. like you say the ramifications of pissing Trump off would be felt by every household in the country and as much as in private he probably thinks Trump is a nobhead. He HAS to keep him onside.

He refused to prosecute several high profile peso whilst head of the cps

Just trust me on this brb he’s a dirty deviant **** too

Someone’s deffo got him on tape doing some disgusting shot

Hos own words this morning were he was aware of mandlesons association with Jeffery but still gave him the job

But since it all came on top he removed him

Kiers a dorty deviant too

Trump is 'associated' with Epstein - should he step down?

Mandelson was one of the UKs best known 'diplomats' (actually the most well known) - so not that surprising that he got the US Ambassador job ... but he must have known this **** would hit the fan at some stage, but his ego wouldn't let him miss out on such a high profile gig...

He's now in deep deep **** - nowt to do with the smutty sex stuff associated with Epstein ...but possibly, treason ...

Would have had his head lopped off for disclosing that kind of state info a couple of centuries ago...(if it's proven)...

Can’t be real?

Let's not forget this either...

Sorry about the formatting in this...

Allegations of child sexual abuse

Early allegations

In May 1979, a local underground magazine, the Rochdale Alternative Press, alleged that in the 1960s Smith had spanked and sexually abused teenage boys in a hostel he co-founded. The matter was investigated by the police, but Smith was not prosecuted. The story was repeated in the same month by the magazine Private Eye.[54] Smith never publicly denied the accusations of abuse or took legal action in response to those accusations. After his death, the allegations were denied by his family.[55][56][57] The Press Office of the leader of the Liberal Party, David Steel, commented at the time, "All he seems to have done is spanked a few bare bottoms".[58]

Looking at David Steels press office response now, shows you the depth of the problem.

And that's only a very minute part of that wiki story.

Learnt about Smith only yesterday actually - he was a big mate of Jimmy Saville's

FFS Muppet ... wasn't a case of 'refusing' to prosecute - his actual job as DPP was to assess cases brought before him by the CPS as to whether they had enough evidence to make a conviction more likely than not - if not, go away and build a case that will stick - why? - because double jeopardy was still a legal precedent during his time as DPP - Saville, in particular, had some very powerful 'friends' in high places ...

We're you aware of PIE? ... seriously ****ed up individuals ... many in high places...
he's too young to remember PIE in fact barely anyone seems to considering the response on here when i brought it up .
oh and don't think many in high places were in PIE as their membership list was fairly easy to get hold of though some are bound to have those tendencies as a certain percentage of the population does .

Yeah I had guessed / assumed you might not know about Smith, that is the precise reason I selected that case. For me it sort of explained why I got all humpity about Mandelson. My thought process looks back to cases like that and thinks don't let these ****s bury this stuff. Hence why I say challenge them and question every little detail of what they say.

Some of the stuff coming out is mind boggling - the segways/ connections are something else ...

There is a pic(s) of Epstein, Film Director, Brett Ratner and French modelling agent, Jean-Luc Brunel cuddled up with young women on a couch...

Ratner has just directed the Melania Docu/Movie - his first project since being accused of sexual misconduct in 2017 (which he's always denied)...

Brunel was found hanged in his Paris prison cell in 2022 whilst under investigation for the rape of minors and sexual trafficking of minors for sexual exploitation...

If this was all a film script we'd be going "nah - bit too far fetched now" ...

Sure there will be a film at some stage <laugh>

Maybe I misunderstood the June 25 announcement of a national enquiry my Cooper?

Got to be honest, haven’t followed up on it. Was so disgusted by the tories not implementing one single recommendation from The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse released in 2022. The buck just passed along.

This most recent enquiry is due at the end of March this year I believe.

Let’s see what happens and if anything is done.

Suggesstions in Parliament that those that advised the Prime Minister on Mandelson's appointment should be investigated themselves. I think it's a fair shout, we need to find out what went on here.

It's getting worse; Mandelson shared market sensitive information worth 500BN to save the euro to Epstein. I assume this is one thing if true that could lead to criminal action against Mandelson, in short it's corruption.
