Here's something I've posted in the past, seems relevant.

I will echo the sentiment that the country is ****ed.

It's a different place to what I guess most on here grew up in. The new arrivals have a different mentality to those who came after ww2 and upto the 80s. The local population has also changed in their attitudes.
Without going all political, back in the early 80s with a smaller population unemployment got to 4 million. No food banks, no blatant shop lifting, no job vacancies of any sort, but almost everyone was looking and trying to find work. A number of my small circle of friends got through it and went on to have successful and productive lives.
Today a much larger population and unemployment is 1.5 million, there are companies crying out for workers simple jobs no qualification required even at minimum wage thats £12.50 an hour but somehow at the same time we have a cost of living crisis, even the police and NHS staff have been claimed to need food banks.
No one gives a **** about the place any more, drop litter as a kid and your parents would give you a clip around the ear, now people are taking in a vehicle rubbish to the end of the built up area and dumping sacks full of rubbish. Every layby and car park is full of take away wrappers.
All in all it's a fairly bleak outlook.
No shop lifting ffs
No heroin epidemic ? No lads who died from poverty drugs and hopelessness
I’d suggest you look at that pic on the mdt of the city flag and see the names of some of those lads who never made it
If you think the 80’s was some paradise in hull and other northern cities it ****jng wasn’t and neither were the 90’s

Don't forget glue sniffing, I remember loads of teenagers dying in the 80s from glue, we couldn't afford heroin & tbh wouldn't have known where to find it !!!

Buried deep in the news, as it doesn't fit the narrative.

UK homicide rates reaching a 50 year low. 23% reduction in deaths from knife crime a big driver in that.

Things to be celebrated.
Yep, that's to be celebrated.
Now look at the rest of the crime figures (and how much goes unreported as there's little point in a lot of instances). Absolutely out of control. Buried deep in the news, or not even making the news at all, as it doesn't fit the narrative.

I said no blatant shop lifting, like filling a trolley and walking out, then selling all the Ill gotten gains on Walton Street market.

I never said anything about drugs.

I know very well that the 80s wasn't paradise, laid off half way through an apprenticeship, having to move away from home for a year at 18 and two years on the dole.

There's always been rubbish in the hedgerows, the only problem now is not of it is porn.

Blame the ****heads we let in....

Apparently in the coming elections, in Birmingham there will be 60 (SIXTY) 'independent' councilors put forward for election. Except they aren't 'independent' at all, they are under an 'alliance'. It's not even hidden. Some even have known links to past atrocities. I don't need to expand (unless you truly are living under a rock).
If that doesn't scare the **** out of you for what is happening, this generation, and what is coming down the road for the next generation, then there honestly is no hope for you and you deserve it. Suicidal empathy and naivety turned against you.
Then there's the whole long, long list of stuff in this country that just doesn't work anything like it should, self inflicted harm through bonkers net zero and other stupidity, how we're playing right into China's hands, etc etc. Without a reset in the near future, it's over for us.

I lived through the 60's (only remember a bit of the late 60's), the 70's, 80's ....
If you are seriously trying to make out shoplifting, drugs (crime, societal breakdown, etc etc) back then are anything like now then you are a ****ing idiot.

You’re guzzling all the **** on gb news aren’t you

Crime in England and Wales has experienced a long-term, significant decline over the past 30 to 40 years, with current levels far below the peak reached in the mid-1990s
. While police-recorded crime surged in the 1980s and early 1990s, the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW)—considered a better measure of long-term trends—shows that overall, crime has fallen by roughly 90% since its 1995 peak.

Long-Term Trends (1980s–2020s)
  • The Peak (Mid-1990s): Recorded crime rose throughout the 1970s and 1980s, peaking in 1995 with 11.6 million incidents of crime against households and individuals.
  • The Decline (Post-1995): From 1995 onwards, a sustained, decades-long drop in crime followed, with theft and burglary dropping by over 75% by 2024.
  • Recent Years (2015–2025): While long-term trends show a decline, some crime types have increased recently. The CSEW reported 9.4 million incidents of headline crime in the year ending March 2025, a 7% increase from the previous year, driven largely by fraud.

Key Crime Categories
  • Violent Crime: Has seen a general, long-term decline. Homicides peaked around 2003 (over 1,000 per year) and have since fallen to around 500-600 per year, with 499 recorded in the year ending September 2025.
  • Theft and Property Crime: Burglary and vehicle offences have fallen by roughly 90% from their peak.
  • Sexual Offences: Police-recorded sexual offences have increased over the last decade, primarily due to improvements in police recording practices and increased victim reporting.
  • Knife Crime: Knife crime has seen fluctuations, with recent data showing a 9% decrease in the year ending September 2025 (50,430 offences) compared to the previous year.
  • Fraud: Fraud has become a significant driver of, with 4.2 million estimated incidents in the year ending March 2025.

Data Considerations
It is important to distinguish between the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police-recorded crime data:
  • CSEW: Better for measuring long-term trends as it is not affected by changes in reporting or recording practices.
  • Police Recorded Crime: Often higher in recent years due to better recording methods, rather than just an increase in actual crime.
  • London vs. National Trends: While national crime has decreased, some areas, such as London, have reported significant increases (31% in the last decade, with violent crime up 40%).

I am because it’s obvious and blatant and whilst you lot all sleep through it , it’s ruining this country - get out of your bubble a look around . E bike riders doing WTF they like , hundreds of money laundering shops just in Hull alone - rapists getting away with it . Just remember every foreign immigrant criminal is one extra we shouldn’t have . And yes there is diversionary news but it’s still truth not manipulation by a phoney government of liberal top university holier than thou twats .
