Huge ambition but didn’t sign a midfielder after the MGW deal went tits up and no winger after Semenyo went to City.

The club know they need at least 2 signings more but what’s going on?

Simons isn't a midfielder?

Simons isn't a midfielder?
He's an attacking midfielder, Gibbs-White is a central midfielder

Gallagher might be an attempt to fill the Gibbs-White role, but we've had half a season's worth of evidence that Bentancur cannot fill the Norgaard-like role TF envisioned for him

Aleksandar Stankovic has reportedly been on our radar as a solution for that, but is unlikely this month as Brugge are still in the CL and we'd have to negotiate around Inter having buyback options in both the summer of 2026 and 2027

Nor do I. It’s just too quiet, and we’re deep into the window. If they’ve managed to keep the business on complete lockdown, fair play. But that’s highly likely IMO.

It’s basically the same every window. But I’m particularly surprised in this one, regardless of it being January. I thought there’d be lots of rumours from decent sources, but even Fab’s barely tweeted about us.
I didn’t know what to expect but I suppose I hoped for something positive. The whole “new direction” post-Levy stuff has already proven nonsense, the £100m injection has barely been touched and we’re left with a battered squad that’s severely lacking star power, to the point our CB captain is often having to be the one to either score or assist in key moments, that’s the job for an attacking mid/ winger/ striker. What’s worse, is that another season like last in the league and I think we can say bye to Romero and probably van der Ven too.

As I said earlier, I really believe this club has so much potential but we’re being ran by incompetent idiots.

The new direction has really turned out to be same old same old.

You will get some fans say wait until the summer but by then there will be no European football so we will hear that excuse about being unable to attract good players. If that was the case then go for them now as can offer champions league.

It’s all a bit tedious for me these days. I don’t even feel disappointment, just apathy

Curtis Jones refusing to sign an extension to his contract which runs until 2027 and has fallen out with Slot

The sort of deal we should be looking to pounce on, and his name has been linked with us this month (albeit by ****ty sources) but we seem to be sitting back and letting Inter stroll to his signing

Inter need to sell Davide Frattesi to Forest before they can make their move for Jones.

I’d rather see Spurs move for the Italian than Jones tbh

The coach fronting up for the board...?

Somehow, I feel like I've seen that before...

It didn't do any other coach any favours and I can't see Frank being around long enough to see those 'big improvements' come to fruition.
Jeez. Frank’s glowing version sounds more like he’s been threatened. “Say nice things, or else!” <laugh>

Eze and MGW are completely different players though. Ideally Spurs would have got both and then this season would have panned out very differently
They have very similar goals and assists stats and both are described as attacking midfielders if you search for them. Simons similarly. Completely different in what way?

In position? Eze is more of a winger/10. MGW plays as more of an all round midfielder doesn’t it.

Savinho was also part of the plan so maybe Simons was plan d :bandit:

Frank saying that us wanting to sign Semenyo "proves" our level of ambition just takes the biscuit.

I'd like us to sign Kylian Mbappe. Does that mean I'm ambitious?
The diplomatic answer would be to say Bentancur's injury changed the priority and led to Conor Gallagher being the first through the door

That's technically the truth...it's just that's what happened with Curtis Jones
