Strand Larsen going to Palace for £50million. That’s crazy money
maybe the rumours of us being in for Mateta have some weight.
Can’t imagine that’ll be a cheap deal. No doubt we’ll seriously over pay as usual.

Mateta is wanted by Juve but so is RKM

So yeah Spurs will probably spend £50million on Mateta <laugh> and then it frees up RKM to go to Juve

Mateta then gets a season-ending hammy in his first training session and RKM goes on to top the goalscoring charts and leads the French attack to World Cup glory....

I ain't in favour of sacking managers but ENIC clearly are...they have completely and utterly failed to back Frank.
It's really poor especially considering the bollocks they spouted after ditching Levy.
Genuinely looks like Levy was giving the board a kick up the ass all these years at this point

I have zero sympathy for ENIC as we are in a hole entirely of their own making, but having said that if I was making the final call, I don't think I'd risk tens of millions on a manager who hasn't really shown anything to justify that outlay.

The real damage and criticism belongs to the summer window, which was a embossed page out of the Levy hymn book. We totally squandered our CL status by failing to even attempt to replace Son, failing to land Gibbs White, failing to land Eze, making Tel's loan permanent, overspending on Simons, and relying on loan moves to fill up the stocking a bit more. It was a car crash of a window and it left Frank at an immediate disadvantage before we'd even kicked a ball.

But having said that, it doesn't change the fact that he has made porridge out of this season and justifiably needs to prove himself before further major investment is warranted.

The summer before done way more damage. A bunch of kids and Solanke set us back by about two years at least. I’d say that was only “out-****ted” by the 19/20 fiasco and 18/19’s blank.

Whilst we ****ed it last summer by not signing Semenyo/ top LW, we at least showed a bit of desire to strengthen by going for Prem proven players or players with European pedigree, despite my concerns over Simons’ ability to adapt to the Prem, which still remains.

January’s been a car crash though. A LB none of us had heard of two weeks ago and almost certainly won’t kick a ball for us this season and a bang average Chelsea fan that’s no different to what we already had. Frank’s been nowhere near as good as I’d hoped but Vinai and Lange have sent him up **** creek without a paddle… and shot a couple holes in his boat.

I don't disagree.

I think for me as I said the real disappointment of the summer is that having CL money and pull did absolutely nothing for us. I think the only deal that doesn't go through is possibly RKM who always said he wanted CL football. Otherwise, the others it made zero difference to them signing.

We didn't push hard enough for the three big names we missed out on, and that's what killed us. We approached those deals just like we approach deals when we're (with the greatest respect) competing with Fulham and Burnley. We were naive, lacked ruthlessness and paid a heavy price as a result.

Anyway we're now being linked with Moussa Diaby as apparently Lange has run out of ideas and is phoning the rejects he convinced Villa to sign in the first place.

Levy’s shock exit is starting to look like he approached the Lewis family about a change of tact, and needing to actually make a significant net spend to compete. The response was clearly “**** off Daniel, that’s not who we are, mate”. <laugh>

Never thought I’d defend levy over football decisions, as the bloke infuriated me for years. But the quotes about cash injections etc etc and how things are going to change, now look like utter bullshit from the owners, which is heavily biting them in the arse with the fans.

Frank openly talking about looking for PL-proven players for January is certainly standing out a lot more now

Gallagher obviously counts and Robertson would if somebody can bung Roma a LB on short notice, but the other names being linked (albeit by **** sources, FFS teamTALK is getting cited a whole bunch) don't fit into that remit at all

I think we are so far gone and fixing the problems is now such a huge task, it is only now that they realise they have vastly underestimated how difficult it is to fix, and vastly overestimated their ability to fix it.

We just seem completely lost. Endless reviews on reviews. Manager turnover. Executive turnover. Throwing darts everywhere hoping one hits the bullseye.
