To me ..these pseudo medical journalists are half the problemIf we were to believe every health article quoting 'studies' etc we'd all be raving hypochondriacs. Much of it is sensationalised bollox...

"Something " increases your risk of dying by 50%....oh my panic... it's doubling my risk!!! Panic panic
But my risk was only 1 % at the start.
It's now 1.5%..
I fell for it early doors. Stopped eating bacon and coffee...40 years of pure joy missed out.
I love a coffee and a bacon butty now

Yes same with our doctors using online appointments & wife got her appointment in 2days, much better system if it continuesHas anyone else noticed a big improvement in getting GP appointments? My GP practice now employs an online triage system via Rapid Health to filter appointment requests and I've used this three times in recent weeks for minor conditions. On two occasions, I was offered a same day appointment and on the third occasion I was given a next day appointment. The GP actually called me in the afternoon preceding the next day appointment and said 'I recommend you keep your appointment tomorrow, but I've seen the reason for your request and I'm going to send a prescription through to your pharmacy now so that you can hopefully get some medication today'.
I live in North Norfolk. Our local surgery closed last year which for several years now you could only collect prescriptions from, so we now have to travel to the nearest town for both appointments and prescriptions.Has anyone else noticed a big improvement in getting GP appointments? That's grim. I sympathise.I live in North Norfolk. Our local surgery closed last year which for several years now you could only collect prescriptions from, so we now have to travel to the nearest town for both appointments and prescriptions.
I haven't been able to see an actual doctor since before COVID, you just get to see a health professional. We are also typically having to wait between one and two weeks to see someone.
So I guess it's a postcode lottery scenario.

I had the joy of my triennial "****-on-a-stick" today![]()
My GP has used the triage system for about 3 years now and depending on symptoms I have had several same day appointments so there isn't a problem there.Has anyone else noticed a big improvement in getting GP appointments? The big problem all have is A&E which always seems at full stretch...

Actually, until your post I’d forgotten all about it. Seem to remember great views but not a hospital I would have wanted to be treated in, way back then. Hopefully, waits aside, it’s improved.Scarred for life?
