In our last two matches a few sloppy mistakes have cost us four points. We went through a patch of playing badly ie donny and bristol. I think we're regaining form and playing better but things arn't quite going for us like they were at the beggining of the season. Anyway I reckon theres abit of pent up frustration in the dressing room and if its unleashed in the right manner along with chaplow/connelly comming back then somebody is in for a demolotion real soon!

Being as we're at the top it's an easy gamble. There's only a 50% chance of being wrong.

the "good start" bit is the funniest bit. a start which lasts half a season?? an extended start for sure.

He is of course right the only way we can 'go' is down as being stationary isnt 'going'. Although I think the comments about being lucky to draw with pompey show him up aha

I suppose Pompey play much more in the style you're used to seeing. Perhaps that befuddled you.

I thought we were unfortunate not to get 6 points from our last 2 games. We are starting to play well again but little mistakes have crept into our game recently which have cost us points.

The mistakes have always been there, IMO. Our normal superiority, which allows us the odd error, hasn't there recently, in the last month. It'll come back though.

Southampton are still in their blip at the moment. You haven't picked up a win in three games and you haven't gotten a win in December. I dont watch Southampton play regularly and I accept that yesterday was game where form counts for nothing but on yesterday's performance I'd say your currently relying on Lambert to get you through this bad patch without dropping too many points - not to make too finer point of it Lambert was the only player in your side who looked sharp in front of goal. I think it'll come down to whether or how you strengthen in January as to whether you can keep up your title push.

This has both annoyed and humoured me over the past couple of months. Start this, start that, start the other. The start to the season was ages ago people, and we're still top.

That's a reasonable comment, IMO. Can we stop using the American non-words though..? Gotten..? What in Sam Peckinpah is that..?

I'd pretty much agree with this. It wasn't a coincidence that in the first of these three games - 1-0 defeat to Doncaster at the start of the month - Lambert was missing through injury and we looked pretty impotent up front as a result.

But with Chaplow and Connolly injured (plus Barnard), De Ridder still adjusting to English football (not to mention the jury still being out on him), and Guly going through a bit of an iffy patch (although he was very good vs Blackpool), I guess it's not a big surprise that we're currently relying on Lambert so much. I think every single one of ones accepts that we need to strengthen our forward line next month.
