From start to finish it seemed u sat back... sturridge at times at right back nearly ??
I simply cant understand how cautious u were instead of givin the poorest defence in the prem a good hidin !

The subs were questionable and I think AVB was too confident we would win. He brough Mikel on in order to hold the lead and I think it's a major mistake to try and defend a 1-0.

He shouldn't have changed anything if and until we'd got a 2-0 lead!

Agreed, should've stuck with Sturridge and Mata and taken Drogs off.

Come on lads, yes it was a poor performance but AVB decided to make changes to see the game out as Wigan were not causing us too much discomfort at the back. No one can legislate for the goalie who is usually rock solid making a simple error as he did. Disappointing but still a long way to go. <ok>

Sadly these are children who never see Chelsea play other than on TV or Fifa 2012. <ok>

Too true. The Shed on the CFC site is full of calls for AVB to be sacked. Some debatable substitutions and his player handling is questionable but he is a genius tactitian no doubt. He will grow.

This is Mourinho's squad still, we need to let him bring his own kind of player in. Helps if people like Lampard who are highly thought of at Chelsea, don't moan.

    Drogs, Bluemono and Ginger,

You're all correct. One nil is never enough. If you make subs, it should be to go 2 nil up, not defend a single goal.
AVB is still learning, still dealing with lots of players that need to move on, and showing some good results ( until last game )
Spuds game now looking bigger than City game !!
    No room for slackers.
Team selections please, so we can let AVB know who to play !!!!!!

    Spot on mate.

    My line up would be:

    Cech

    Ivan
    Luiz
    Terry
    Cole

    Romeu
    Ramires
    Meireles

    Sturridge
    Mata
    Torres

Hate seeing Brana in the middle, he often makes rash challenges aswell as Luiz and can make stupid mistakes. He's quick and has a good cross so leave him on the right instead of the useless sack of ****e that is Bosingwa.

I have a feeling Drogba will still play but I'd put Torres in for this one, had enough of the inconsistancy of Drog and he's only putting in what he wants to.

    BENCH: No Mikel or Malouda!!!!

You do not defend a one nil lead. You change nothing unless there is an injury or you are obviously being overrun. Nether happened at Wigan before Mikel came on. Shore up the defence always sounds like it is a good idea and should work. In practise, from years of experience we all know it is a risky gamble. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If it doesn't work try something else. Again neither maxim was applicable at Wigan. Sorry but AVB should of known this before he got to Chelsea. It's a no brainer.

So would mine !! Drogba will probably start, and maybe deserves another go, but if it's not happening with him after 30 mins, let's see what Torres has got behind that midfield.
