Looking at the stats, how are we winning? Maybe Syd have an explanation. Though all these stats don’t mention the only one that matters, the BINs.

Listening on Humberside, Swanny saying even in the good old days it should have been a straight red for Hughes
It may well have been but the ref and linesman were looking right at it and both didn’t call a foul. They were happy for it to be a throw-in until the Southampton fans and players kicked off during the break in play and the ref changed his mind and gave Hughes a yellow. There’s no VAR in the Championship so he shouldn’t change his decision like that.

Watching from Mexico, bit of a rearguard action at times but very clinical first half, two well taken goals, but ya cant argue with that, more of the same please and grab these 3 points. Their no. 6 is looking likely and their right winger is giving Millar atorrid time but all in all well done boys. Btw fro replays I've seen them given for the challenge on Millar,

I’m not his biggest fan, but he made that point too tbf. I obviously haven’t seen it, and may be making myself sound stupid to those who have, but his inference was that the ref was consulting with the linesmen before deciding what to do, which is why he waited.

Reminds me of under Rosenior we went there and played great too. Wonder if their pitch helps our play at this time of year in contrast to ours. Pair of away games away from the mkm may do us some good.

Abridged version,
Southampton O Hull City 2.

Listening on Humberside, Swanny saying even in the good old days it should have been a straight red for Hughes
It was one of those old fashioned kick the ball knowing you will also get the player on the follow through. Could have been a red.

I've seen the replay and neither ref nor linesman gave a foul at the time. I'm still not sure what Hughes did, he cleared the ball and his foot hit their player, didn't look any more than that.
