Gutted we didn't go for him, my number one pick in the summer. Would've been a great replacement for Mo and is rather have done that than give our Egyptian legend a new deal tbh2 goals for Semenyo in 2 games. Yeah not buying him was a great decision![]()
Fixed that for you, mateTbh my gut feeling is that he simply chose City over us. There were several clubs, including us, willing to pay roughly the same wages, but City were the only ones willing to pay secret money too. Suggests to me that his agent gauged interest and he made his choice.
Robbo being political about it but deffo looking to play more or move.
Possibly the Elliott money as that hasn’t gone as expected ?I don't get why we aren't just going straight back in for Guehi personally.
4 months ago we had agreed that £35m fee and he was doing his interviews, we're now even lighter at CB with Leoni's injury - make a new offer and take it from there, he clearly wanted to be a Liverpool player.
Guehi going to City. All agreed by the sounds of it
considering you have spent years moaning about FSG's penny pinching it's a bit of a chhek when they do splash outYou must log in or register to see media
£20m as well. One-sixth of what we paid for Isak. Less than a fifth of what we paid for Wirtz. And that **** Glasner, who stopped us getting him in the first place, is leaving Palace at the end of the season - possibly to replace Pep? But Edwards and Hughes are such geniuses, though.![]()
What an amazing coincidence...Comes on the same day (less than 30mins in fact) Glasner announces he's leaving Palace at the end of the season.
Yeah theres no coincidence there. That ****er screwed us and Palace out of £15m

Wrote mine before you added second line. What an amazing coincidence...

I said back in August that spending that money on Isak was ludicrous, and that we could have had Guehi and Semenyo for that amount with £30m left over, so I'm not being wise after the event, and nor are many others who made the same point at the time. But we all feared as well that spending that money in the summer, though it was a fraction of what City's and Arsenal's net spend has been for the calendar year, would usher in another few years of austerity, and here we see that it will.considering you have spent years moaning about FSG's penny pinching it's a bit of a chhek when they do splash out
On the fees splashed on Isak and Wirtz (though Isak in particular) i've made my views abundantly clear on that plus how damaging that window was to our squad depth.

This is a terrible outcome for us, really terrible. Why were we not back in for him? I see that €$$T Glasner has jumped ship now as well. It was he who blocked Guehi transfer in the Summer. I am really fumingMarc Guehi is to join Manchester city for £20m after Liverpool cooled interest.
