Taken a look at it on SKY, Ralls can have no real complaints

Penalty certainly, but I think Ralls' red card was a bit harsh.

How many times have we seen penalties rightly been given when defenders pull down opposition players during set peice plays etc but then stay on the pitch? You can say it was the denial of a goalscoring opportunity, but aren't they all?

Rallsy knew what he was doing alright, but the penalty award was enough.

Oh c’mon it was akin to wrestling. The most blatant penalty.

Not as blatant as Ralls though:emoticon-0138-think

It was certainly blatent, I'll give you that, and you could say Ralls gave the ref no alternative. It was an easy decision for him and I've got no problem with it, but consistency is the key here, and that's not what we're getting.

If Ralls gets sent off and a one game ban for preventing a goal scoring opportunity, then things like dangerous elbowing and stamping on feet at set pieces need to be punished as well. That's violent conduct and a 3 match ban, but then that's far more contentious and consequently ignored.

Certainly a feeling of double bubble with a penalty and a red.
I remember him getting sent off for us, rugby tackling a striker 35 yards out when he was beaten on the turn.
Youre more likely to see a red given outside the box than inside.
As you rightly say, consistency is what you want. For the same offence and across offences.

If there is one thing consistent about referees, its their inconsistency.

Can we honestly say we've seen a good one this season? If so, name him/her.

The female we had for the Wimbledon Vertu Cup game was okay but there was hardly a decision to make - and no Salech up front to be wrestled with!!!
