I think I dislike most teams tbh. Over the years basically all of them will have done something that has annoyed me to some degree.

Spurs and Everton probably my most disliked, but that is more down to people I know I think.

Used to be Man U and Liverpool but don’t really care about either of them now they are ****

Portsmouth wouldn’t even make my top 50 disliked clubs I think, completely irrelevant to me

How can people not hugely dislike a club who ruined a minutes silence for our greatest ever servant.

Wonder if there's a link between people who don't live in the city and those who don't have them as most disliked?

Undoubtedly, I’ve never even met a Pompey fan

As we are in Yuletide, what about clubs we like?
PL Arsenal and Bournemouth
Championship PNE
División 1 Bolton
Division 2 Swindon
National League Scunthorpe
La Liga Athletic Bilbao and Real.Mallorca
Bundesliga Bayern (The Kane factor)
Serie A: Atalanta

"The affinity towards Israel also makes Spurs a team I really dislike."

The line quoted is from an earlier post from Thumwood. One or both of you must have seen it yet there has been no warning to what is blatant antisemitism. He can't hide behind "criticising Israel is not antisemitism" on this one because Spurs fans are British Jews, not Israeli, they are Jews.
Their affinity to Israel is because they are Jewish and he really dislikes Spurs because of that. I don't know what could be more clearer as to what he is saying and what he is.
His unsavoury thoughts are his own but as soon as they are posted on a public forum they become open to what is lawful.

I agree, the sentiment expressed in that post is offensive and distasteful and contravenes forum rules again racist hate speech.
I confess I didn’t see it at the time but I’ll issue a final warning to Ian now.

To be fair I worked with loads of Pompey fans on and off over the years in the past, especially when we did a huge brand-new extension/buildings in HMS Temeraire and apart from one I remember who was a 'full-time stereo-typical football-hooligan-Pompey-fan-working-with-Saints-Fans' and was an utter d**k, the rest were okay, good laughs, and they knew me and a few others were Saints fans, they didn't even take the p**s about that much.

Perhaps I was lucky?

I also missed it and I agree with Chilco. By the way, feel free to report the post IOAG which will flag it for us to take a look at.

OK. I thought the report tag went straight to the not606 organisers rather than you. Will do in future if needed.

How can they possibly be classed as a sleeping giant. Proper Portamyth territory that one where they compare themselves to Sunderland.

They were getting four figure attendances 30 years ago ffs and since entering the football league average less than us.

They had one good period either side of WWII and then bar an extremely fluky FA Cup win which bankrupted them have done nothing since and barely been in top flight since the 60s.
I would agree that their fans are fickle.

I have worked with loads and gave found that there is not much balance regarding their perception of Southampton. Most of them have a grievance but their opinion is generally that they consider Southampton to be a bit artificial and not a genuine, authentic working class club. Outside of Southampton , I do think other clubs perceive Portsmouth and their fans much higher than we do. There was an interesting series of interviews with Alan Green years ago on Radio 5 which considered this matter when Portsmouth were facing points deductions which was quite interesting and would raise a few eyebrows in here.

I enjoy seeing Portsmouth loose and reading about their misfortunes. Just do not agree that they are an irrelevance. They will always be superior to Huddersfield and the parallels with Newcastle and Sunderland are understandable even if exaggerated. For me, they are a club which has continually under achieved even since the days of Frank Burrows. Both Alan Ball and Harry Redknapp have shown what they can achieve if given the requisite resources. Whilst I can laugh at their misfortunes, I am also wary that they can reverse their fortunes too. I am just thankful that it does not happen too often. Really embarrassing when England used to line up with so many Portsmouth players.

The 'middle class city' is another Portsmyth too. Just the dock strike one to go Ian and you'll have the full house.

You live in/near Winchester don't you Ian? Why not have a walk around Weston, Thornhill, or Millbrook and see if you think that characterisation holds true.

And then the parallels to Newcastle and Sunderland are absolute nonsense as well. Nowhere near as well supported as those clubs.
With clubs I like the top of the list for me would be QPR whose team I remember fondly from Dave Sextons time as boss.

I do not have any likes or dislikes for lower league teams. I remember about ten years ago when the magazine When Saturday Comes used to boycott mentioning MK Don's.

As someone who has never lived in Southampton or near Southampton the perception of Portsmouth fans and Saints fans is “lol why support either of those”

Or in Portsmouths case “who”

Lol

I think that is a step too far !

I worked in PO postcode for nearly 9 years. It is a hostile environment if you support Saints but made worse for me when we were relegated and all the dodgy money came into Portsmouth. My point is that I am wary of them. I don't necessarily see them as underdogs...maybe more a sleeping giant who have been badly run.

I feel Saints fans are more reasonable and pragmatic with their aspirations. You can never say that about Portsmouth.

Totally understand the antipathy towards Leicester.

I see them as a sleeping tramp, snoring through the DTs
