Going berserk with the kids is pure Ardiles. Miley has made it into the first team, but everyone else still has to prove themselves. Harrison isn't anywhere near yet, if he ever will be.
Lol no one is going berserk. We're just discussing the merits of the youth players. Harrison is 20. Murphy is 19. Murphy has shone for u21s and when out on loan. He's also shown last night he is capable of being Halls understudy. But nah let's wait until they are 25 and bemoan then instead.

This obviously isn't merely about age, it's about not going too overboard with the academy graduates. Tino, Woltemade and Hall are all young but good enough to be regular first team players. The academy kids aren't.

The point was Murphy came in as an absolute last resort, yet looked more than capable. Hall similarly had to wait until a lumbering, struggling Burn broke his back before coming in - and again looked more than ready. Kids of 15 and 16 are playing for the likes of City and Arsenal. These aren’t generational talents, they’re just afforded a chance. So few of ours are, unless out of desperation, therefore it’s surely valid to question the managers judgement.

That Korean kid - he looked fine pre season, where is he? (Genuine question he might be on loan!!!!)

For me the issue is we don't see them getting an opportunity at the top level to show how good they are against PL opposition. I'm not sayi g they all come in at once, but Pep has blooded Bobb and O'Reilly. Klopp brought Harvey Elliot in. Using them could be the making of them

If they don't play we don't know.

Howe doesn't trust youth because it cost him his job at Bournemouth in his eyes... Simon Jordan interview is the source.... All about him.

Bang on. Look at his team sheets the year they went down.

City occasionally have a player like Foden occasionally coming through, Harvey Elliott hasn't yet made it for Liverpool or he wouldn't be out on loan. City have succeeded cos they had the money not a great youth system - Haaland, Aguero, Rodri, Silva, Gundogan, Yaya Toure etc didn't come from their youth policy. The fact Miley has made it for us is great, cos youth players rarely do these days.

Seen better tbh. 2004 or something away to Liverpool when Souness had just started. We were 1-0 away, Titus Bramble manage to find space in the box and get a free header to powerfully score. In his own net though obvs.

Bramble was a ****ing disaster

Signed because we were left with a hole in defence, after Sylvain Distin decided to be a mercenary and not stay with us. How different that could have worked out.

Although Souness did his best to make Bramble even worse by pairing him with Boumsong.

This game and the next could see a big swing one way or the other in the board conflict.

Hopefully today sees the return of Joelinton! Newcastle need him to win games. Listening to the collective fanbase saying he can't pass or do anything but put himself about is actually laughable btw.

He's still to this day one of, if not thee most skilful player at the club.

Makes an absolutely massive difference in all areas of the pitch.

Completely agree about Joelinton.
