Bruno's comments after the game were quite brutal and Howe contradicted some of them in his press conference.

Amen to this. I mean, he even contradicted his own post-match interview, where I think he apologises at least 3 times because it was so ****ing awful!
It's not the comments or demeanour of a man safe in his shoes. There will be some serious pressure on him purely through the UCL and PL matches - whilst the LC trophy was a hell of an achievement, in terms of a billion pound investment it doesn't scratch the surface, so I don't think this weeks result has any bearing on anything. From a board level, I'd imagine they look at the LC and think "sure, we've done that, but could do without the conference league thanks".
