Just call me nostradamus...

Really poor performance tbh. Not sure we had a shot on target second half bar the goal.

That second was such a poor goal to concede, especially after getting a lifeline out of nowhere basically. I'll need to see it again but I reckon there was 3-4 big errors leading to it.

Knew as soon as it happened it'd finish 2-1.
Yeah Stephen’s was weak with the challenge & Wood was in the wrong position also. Pretty naff all round. Definitely would have got chalked off in PL but this is EPL & we have to take the rub.

Not great from wood or Baz for the second goal.

whilst I would’ve liked Baz to come and claim the ball, I can see why he didn’t. When you have 3 CBs I think keepers are less likely to come as it’s more bodies to get through and much higher chance of getting blocked off and being left in no man’s land. Don’t think that would’ve happened with the second goal, but think it’s just a mindset keepers have when they have a back 3 in front of them. Plus you’d think we should be dealing with crosses with 3 CBs

I'd like Baz to be more proactive at corners but I agree that that particular cross should've been dealt with by one of the CBs. Sometimes I feel it is a case of too many cooks and a bit of complacency with crosses. We should deal with them but maybe each of them think that someone other than them will clear it.
I hate our static zonal marking of the 6 yard box at corners, nobody reacts to where the ball actually goes.

Re the second goal my initial thought in the ground was that Gav absolutely should have come for it but it was one of multiple mistakes. I'll watch the highlights in the morning to see if that's fair or not.

Thought overall he looked pretty shaky though. He just has no presence whatsoever and got very lucky with the shot he spilled.

In what sense?
Dreadful 'support'. It's been bad for ages anyway but was particularly so today.

Very few people in the bottom half interested whatsoever except for the couple of minutes after we scored.

The allez song was sung 4/5 times in the first 13 minutes. Went through the whole L1/Championship songbook plus Gabbiadini thrown in for good measure.

Sang 'football in a library' at a point when they were making much more noise than we were.

Did the old classic of bringing out skate songs when we go behind.

Just really really bad all round.

That was a very lacklustre display. Also why is it that when we are losing we never pummel teams in the last 10-15 minutes as teams do to us?
The lack of attempts in the second half really was extremely poor. At 2-1 it always felt they were more likely to score.

Caught up now so will add some positives...

Great to see Downes back in form. Been excellent recently and was by some margin our best player until he tried imo.

Thought Bragg did okay in what was a difficult game for a nipper to come into. Not saying he was brilliant by any stretch but battled pretty well and a couple of times he lost the ball but fought well to get it back.

Today is the first time that I didn't feel like all of Tonda's subs were pre planned. Felt like he was actually trying to react to the game rather than simply going with whatever subs he had in his head pre match. Okay it didn't work but still positive that he tried for me.

Nice weeks rest before a game that will hopefully suit us more. Seems a recurring theme that we struggle in the 3rd game of a 3 game week so nice to have a midweek gap. Hopefully Fellows will be back.

That's just silly, if he had only ever scored 4 that would mean he's missed 16!

Pretty sure he's converted more than 4.

Just looked it up as curious. He's scored 25/33 in his career, 7/10 for us.

Those three misses have all come in his last four though so maybe that's where the stat came from?

Think the sky commentators were talking about missing 3 in his last four league penalties - think there was a bit of artistic licence on the timescale to suit them

There's definitely something in Tonda's tactics which means we're dreadful second half. I honestly don’t get it. It's every game, he makes substitutions which makes the team worse. Is are backroom staff i.e. physios and fitness coaches that **** that our best 11 can't play a full 90 every time? That he has to make these changes or take our foot off the gas?
in the first half we were good in the attack and were unlucky not to have scored 3-4. In the last weeks they would have gone in. Worryingly we still look suspect in defence. I always thought today’s game was going to be one where we did everything but score and loose certainly based on the first half. I think it proves that if we can play our best team we are very good in attack but are limited in reserve

That was a bad day at the office all round. We deserved nothing from that. A missed penalty, lack of urgency and inviting trouble by playing it slowly from the back. Fraser was anonymous. Saints were nowhere near good enough.

Fair play to Norwich, though and Philippe Clements is a good manager. The winning goal might have been handball but they did their homework.

They roughed Saints up. Didn't let Saints run with the ball. Norwich pressed well. Put some good crosses in. Didn't let Saints play how they wanted.

Saints need to up their game massively next week.
Don’t forget that they were dirty and should of had more yellows or maybe a red

Yes indeed, commentators on my stream were saying just that. The officials got crucial decisions wrong but we also contributed to our loss. Baz should have been on top of the player for the handball goal.

Doesnt change the fact he is **** at pens. He is great at this level because he takes about 5 shots a game and converts 1 or 2. But that doesnr work with pens.

Wasn’t commenting on his actual quality just the question of where the 80% figure was coming from that got mentioned earlier in the thread.
