Is there a post somewhere announcing the planned upgrade, informing us what to expect and when (eg the main changes and their effects, what has been improved etc). I don't recall an announcement that the upgrade was forthcoming and for how long the site would be down. I just went to post last night and found it was down whilst an upgrade was being implemented. I see it is still Xenforo but from the notice it looked like maybe it was a change of software supplier, so I went googling the "Best forum software to see what it might be <laugh> In one list Xenforo didn't appear but in another it was second. I remember the conversion from V Bulletin, which was a major improvement at the time, and I assume Xenforo is still one of the best platforms (if not the best) for our type of forum

I noticed that there are over 2,000 add-ons that range from various gamification features to administration, and enhanced search add-ons such as the popular and powerful ElasticSearch software. Means nothing to me but sounds impressive. Also they can help you develop one of your own with their framework

Mick has done well providing this forum and sorting out which of these 2,000 + add ons to implement and which ones to omit

Not sure why the upgrade was needed and it would have been nice to know in advance, or even now

On the Mod board....if you can remember where it is Ron. <whistle>

I'm actually ok with the new set up, you can only deal with what's in front of you and it will clearly take a few days to settle down.

I think the notification numbers and text is smaller, but I can enlarge that independenly of the forum if I have to.
