Two gigs coming up next week, first up Twin Atlantic at the Barrowlands. They're doing two nights, playing their first two albums back to back. My business partners step-son is the lead singer and we're been added on to the guest list! Nice <cheers>

Thursday night off to the O2 Academy (not my fave venue) to see the return of Pete and Co as Babyshambles roll in to town. 20 years ago their gigs were the hottest ticket in town, even though you had no idea whether Pete would turn up. Once we turned up at Barrowlands to see him, only to find out he'd been locked up that morning for 3 months! A friend of ours was his manager for a short time, and he used to come to Greenock to see him when he was playing Glasgow....one night he turned up, jumped in a taxi and told the driver to take him to wherever he could score some heroin (it's rife round here) - ten minutes later back on the road to Glasgow smacked out of his face, but he still made the stage!! Must've seen Babyshambles back then four or five times, and have seen Pete in various incarnations (Libertines were the worst of the lot, not a fan of Carl Barat) he's cleaned up well now, although he apparently has a cheese addiction <laugh>

We were at this gig....

The View were the support band, and it felt like half of Dundee had come down for the night - I'd never seen so many bottles of Buckfast. There was blood and vomit all over the dancefloor after their moshpit, it was mental. People getting carried out with smashed faces, ripped clothes and loads missing their shoes <laugh>

apparently he has a good back catalogue to drop a few old songs in as well as the new album with Suzi Dian, who sounds excellent.

Just out and have to say a terrific gig. Great mix of Plants old (non LED Zep folk) intermingled with a few LED Zep songs and even a Neil Young song.
Still can lead a stage and put a great song together at 77. Strong musicians and Suzi Dian has a beautiful voice. If you get a chance and still enjoy his craft get along and have a great evening!

Just got tickets for first gig of the year...
