I don’t really know what to say about that game, bar we were truly horrific.

Ajayi was horrendous but he wasn’t on his own. The second goal will stay with me for a while. Ajayi lost it and we nearly conceded a goal. So Pandur decided to go short to him again, and he lost it again and we concede the 2nd. Surely Pandur has to take control of the game and say no, this is going long. To be honest we don’t need to be passing it short to Egan and Ajayi on goal kicks do we, they aren’t known for their utter brilliance with the ball. Pandur’s kicking is woeful anyway.

Also the management were inept. Whitaker and their number 8 just stood between our defence and midfield. So one pass, bypassed the whole lot, Amir and Slater just stood in a line and one pass took them out the game. School boy stuff.

The defence and Pandur still aren't communicating, something's not right there at all. They aren't on the same wavelength, so many needless things happen 'cause they don't get a shout, or expect something that doesn't happen
Pandur not coming out to collect the ball over the top that Egan left, Egan not nodding it back to him when he could have done, resulting in the pair of them colliding and giving a corner away. Not sure if they scored from it, but it set the precedent for what was going to be a serious of defensive ****-ups.

Sort of agree in that midfield, particularly defensive midfield is a massive issue.

But it really isn't as simple as that.

Serge got the starting XI and tactics wrong again. But as others said, he has enough in the bank account.

Attack is a massive problem. When there's next to nothing up there, it just brings more pressure on midfield and defence. Our attack without McBurnie and a fit Millar & Belloumi is just ****e. Gelhardt has done his best to paper over the cracks.

Defence is also a massive problem. Communication with Panda is an issue. Stupid mistakes is a problem. RB's not playing RB is an issue (and no, I'm not a Coyle knocker as such, but that's got to be his main purpose).

So many key injuries are a massive problem, probably the main issue. With McBurnie, Lundstram, Matazo, Millar, Belloumi all playing and firing it would be completely different. Hopefully Zambrano is added in January too. McBurnie and Lundstram are also leaders (another issue). Why can't it be 3 or 4 less important players that are out at any one time, say 3 or 4 of Drameh (or Coyle), Egan, Philips, Destan, Gyabi or something like that? It seems like the perpetual City curse; it's surely got to turn at some point.

Hughes missing in that first half as well. 6 important players in key positions - any team would struggle with that.

No goal, but it was comedy. Pandur has unfortunately dithered a bit lately

That was as bad a first half as I've seen for a long, long time, even worse than Stoke last week. Boro ripped us to shreds, four shots at goal, four goals, game over inside 35 mins.
Either Boro were very good or we are a bag of **** on tonight's showing.
Up front too, I counted one weak toe poke at goal in the second half, I think off Hughes, nothing in the first and besides the penalty, which to be fair Geldhart was quick off the mark to win it, we offered nothing.
Midfield non existent, back four all over the place and Pandur hesitant again, a receipt for disaster.
I cannot recall ever seeing us concede four goals to none at home before half time before either, nor have I ever seen half of our crowd streaming out of the stadium like an exodus at half time as I saw tonight.
I hope it's a long time before I witness that again.

It really wasn't worse than stoke. You said it yourself they only had four clear chances, they just scored all of them.

Joe looked as though he was playing to stay fit for a transfer so barely tackled anyone. And Semi was already at Afcon. I hope I’m wrong but that was Joes worst game he was miles off it from the start .

He was being pulled all over first half off the ball by their left back right in front of the linesmen and nothing done about it. Lots of grabbing, pushing in the back, etc all off the ball every time it went down that side. Their left back continued doing it second half to Belloumi but soon ended up flat on his arse and subbed off.

Why did we insist on passing it straight to Pandur off each of our kick offs, only for him to lump it up the field straight to their defenders? Considering we did that 5 times in the game, you'd think we would have tried something different after it didn't work the first four times.

In fact, other things kept repeating during the game too.

First goal, Coyle is halfway up the field when they come steaming in down our right/their left. They score. 5-10 minutes later, repeat and they're back in but thankfully miss.

Second goal, Ajayi fails to clear ****ing about in defence and they got a shot dragged wide. 2 minutes later, Egan AND Ajayi each fail to clear ****ing about in defence and they score.

Could have been 4 there purely from three of our defenders repeating mistakes.
