Supporters who actually go to games are the last people considered
when fixtures are moved all over the place.

How many Saturday 3 pm home games have we had this season ?

I have massive respect for people who travel long distances to home games , I did
that briefly but not sure if I would make the effort now .

It was easier to justify when family and friends knew that Saturday 3pm was
football and weekends could be arranged around that.

Spent at least half my life doing it, honestly felt liberated when I stopped, scarily about 10 years ago now (doesn’t feel that long!). I didn’t travel as far as Omega Man but going to a home game would still be a full days undertaking.

To be honest I struggle to catch games on tv nowadays let alone get to them all but then I’m generally just a busy person, only days I get free to do things now are Sundays and Mondays. Doubtful I’ll ever have another season ticket again.

I have to admit that I am a bit miserable atm. But as I am having a moan, I am pissed off with driving up getting to my seat only to find that it is like being on a ****ing Nursery school outing.
Every game this season all around me are middle class parent ****ers doing that let’s take the kids for a cheap day out, different ones every game. The kids want a piss every ten minutes, I call the ref a **** and 100 sets of eyes turn on me. It’s either that or Chinese students who I don’t mind as much, but they don’t talk they shout all through the game.
Then it takes half an hour to get out of the car park and I am done.
Rant over!

Maybe people should stop taking kids until we are all dead, then restart the recruitment process

i hope you will congratulate the boro fans on travelling 'insert miles' 'insert day and time' too and how it doesnt stop them

Sadly, My son in law is from Billingham and a staunch Boro fan. Fortunately, my daugher told him they were moving back down here a few years ago. He will be going to the game tonight but...has less than a mile to travel. So, I wonder, if he will hold the record for the shortest journey by a Boro fan....Lets hope its a sad walk home after we win.

I used to play 5-a-side, a few years back., with a staunch Middlesbrough fan who lived in Cottingham and worked in Hull somewhere...If he's still in Cott, he just might give you son-in-law a close call. Plus another guy who worked at Hull College, whilst I was there. Recall them going on a crazy run of games and getting to the final of the Europa Cup and him going off somewhere to see them lose 0-4 to Sevilla in the final. I did feel for the guy.
