    Match Preview;
    Our visitors on Saturday, West Bormwich Albion, have won two, lost two and drawn one in the last five, and they sit 12th, with 25 points. Their top scorer is their Norwegian frontman, Aune Heggebo, with 6 goals so far this season. Since relegation in 2021 they've finished 10th, 9th, 5th then 9th, so they'll be hoping the appointment of young Ryan Mason in June 2025, in his first management position, will bring fresh energy to the club and move them in the right direction. Personally, I wish him all the best, and remember him coming through at Tottenham and then moving to Hull, where a terrible head injury which ended his career in 2017, aged only 26. He has since worked as a coach at Spurs until being given the job at The Hawthorns.

    As for us, I watched the whole thing on Saturday and was utterly frustrated. No options in the final third, so often the ball ended up back with our keeper, with Mbengue charging up the wing only to give the ball away and leave us exposed at the back, Field at left back (???) and Kone, our new front man, sat watching from the bench. I'm not expecting anything from this season anymore...we're not at all solid enough at the back to get a run of wins together that would be needed to move up the table, but surely we have enough firepower with Chair, Kone, Saito, Burrell, Frey, Poku, Smyth and Dembele to get enough points to sit comfortably mid-table come April...?

    Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy if you are making it to HQ, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    Sadly forgot it’s my girlfriend’s birthday so have sold my ticket. But the last home game I couldn’t make was Stoke so all good.

    I’m sure we had a tall player with long hair for a short time in the noughties who had played for them quite a lot previously and I can’t think of his name.

    Kyle Ready, Dannielle Dichio...or is my timing off? Just added Wayne Fereday.

    Are you thinking of Peschisolido? He's already there.

    No. English/British and Peschisolido was short. Long brown/black hair. Could of course be something I’ve imagined 20 years on.

    Cheers Dave

    Looking for 4 points from the next two games at home. Not there for this game so I hope the win comes against the Bluenoses.

    Died of old age

    Tell the kids he’s gone to a farm far away with Niko Kranjcar and Ryan Nelsen. We can’t visit but he’s happy.

    No strong feelings either way with West Brom. Was at the 7-1 defeat and the exhilarating 2-2 a couple of years ago where we got cheated but they’re a very meh team.

    Would love to beat Birmingham. Horrible ****s. Incredibly entitled for a club that has achieved basically nothing.

    Oh ****!! West Brom have lost their last five away games to Millwall, Watford, Ipswich, Charlton and Coventry. :emoticon-0107-sweat

    Julien Stephan on WBA losing last 5 away games: “I don't like this kind of statistic, because when you say that, be sure that next time it will be against us! But, like all runs, each game you play you will be close to the end of the run. Just think about how we prepare.”

    Julien Stephan on fitness: “We have four players who will not be available for the next game. “Field will be back 10 days or two weeks. Kolli will probably be back at the end of the month. Hamer will be available on Tuesday. Vale will (be back training) next week.”

    They’re **** despite the comeback against Swansea (who are also ****). Fans aren’t keen on Mason, who is ****. They’ve got some good players but are one of the teams underperforming rather than the **** teams overperforming (Hull, Preston). So it’s probably fairer to say they’re not that **** but become ****ter thanks to their **** manager.

    Isaac Price on his day is excellent as is Mikey Johnston. They’ve got a lot of experience in midfield but assuming Mepham and Phillips start at the back it’s a massive opportunity if we play with some pace as they are both, for want of a better phrase, ****. Gilchrist (Chelsea, maybe on loan or maybe finally released) at right-back always looks beatable.
