What I can never understand is that people who see themselves as highly principled, truthful and sure of their views can never just admit they're racists, why not. We all know there are racists and we've seen some of them rioting, etc, but they never just say 'Yes I'm a racist'. It's not against the law and they're perfectly entitled to say so ... ... but they pretend it has something to do with the poor farmers, energy costs or fishing quotas. The likes of Farage, Tice, Robinson, etc are cowards because they know what they are while stamping their feet if it's mentioned. The people who support them are in on the pretence and they're even more cowardly because they have the anonymity of forums. If you're a racist be proud to say so, don't cower behind vague insinuations, faux indignation and word play ... just man up ffs!

I lived in Nice where they have Riviera Radio, English grocers, a British newspaper, websites with listings of British tradesmen, celebrate St Patrick's day as if they're all Irish and get their kids to order in restaurants because they don't bother to learn the language. They frequent Brit pubs, mix with Brits and watch nothing but UK TV. Fair enough but don't expect immigrants, in Birmingham, to take on the local culture when there isn't any.
I remember something somebody said years ago I forget who... "When the aliens from outer space invade, there will only be one race 'the human race'." I suppose what they were getting at, incomers are seen as an invasion to locals, but when aliens invade from another world, humans are all on the same side. Or that racism has its roots in the fear of a large number of incomers?
