According to today's Echo we have a very busy and important period coming up...https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25662695.southampton-season-defined-eight-games-30-days-coming/

Without trying to steal Libby's thunder (you're slacking mate...:)), how many points does everybody reckon we will accumulate?.

Brum (H)
WBA (H)
Narch (A)
Cov (H)
Oxford (A)
Brum (A)
Millwall (H)
Boro (A)

An additional prediction, will Tonda Eckert still be the manager?

Funnily enough I was thinking of doing one of these today! Good shout on doing the 8 games though.

WBA (H) W
Narch (A) D
Cov (H) L
Oxford (A) W

Realistically we need to be averaging > 2 pts per game, so I'm going 17 points.

WBA (H) - Win
Narch (A) - Win
Cov (H) - Win
Oxford (A) - Win
Brum (A) - Lose

13 points.

I think we need to win the next 3 + oxford to stay in the mix for the end of the season (and reduce the twitching after a loss a bit).

Coventry feels like a free hit the way they are walking the league at the moment.

the last three are anyones guess.

so 12+ at a minimum

No game at home should be a free hit for us. And I disagree with your first point as well. Everyone except Coventry are dropping points left, right and centre so we don't need to win every game to stay in the play off hunt.

Maybe my wording wasn't great for the points I was wanting to make.

Currently 2-6 in the table have a points/game of 1.8-1.6 so to be in the mix we first have to catch up with them and then be as consistent as they are - so yes you're right teams are dropping points but to catch up we have to drop less then everyone else / beat those above us and we've only been doing that since Tonda took over so winning the next 3 games keeps us on track for that and shows we can be consistent at that level.

As for coventry I said free hit not because the result doesn't matter (it does) but more the fact that what ever the result if will be written off with some reason by some sections. We play well and lose "coventry are flying". We draw and "coventry have not dropped many points this season and we took some off them" etc etc. I said in an earlier post that beating coventry alongside winning the other "easier" games would help put a marker down and show the teams around us that we can win any game - we certainly didn't look like that earlier in the season.

8 games is 24 points, right. OK that’s what we’ll get. Brought to you by the blindly optimistic club. Alternatively maybe 1 point and then a meltdown. It’s what I love about Saints. Predictions. Might as well using a crystal ball.

4x wins & 4x draws. Easy peasy
